Ryan clenched his fist and momentarily opened the door by a small sliver to see who it was. When he found out it was exactly who he didn't want to see, he closed it.
"Who is it?" Keenan yelled through the door, pretending he didn't just open it.
He heard a shuffle outside and listened in intently.
"Open the door," the man ordered.
Ryan clenched his jaw.
"Sorry, I don't open doors to strangers who come in the middle of the night, " he replied roughly.
"You know it's me Dayne, open the door."
Ryan was about to punch the wall out of frustration. His worst fear was about to come true again. What kind of shitty person did he turn out to be in his past life?
"What do you want?" Ryan huffed.
"I know she's in there. Let me see her," Keenan said.
"She's not here," Ryan retorted.
"You even rented some trashy place just to hide her away," Keenan sneered.
"Not like she needed to associate herself with you any further. Aren't you stalking her at this point?" Ryan jeered.
"If you hadn't hidden which hospital she was taken to then she wouldn't even be with you right now," Keenan scoffed.
Ryan just glowered through the door.
"If you don't open the goddamn door, I'll call break it down," Keenan threatened.
Ryan rolled his eyes.
"You? Like you could even do that with your spaghetti arms."
Within the next second, the door began thumping inwards, it's hinges creaking. Dust flew towards him from the impact on the other side, making Ryan stand there in stupor.
"Ryan? Is everything alright?" Rose yelled from the kitchen.
Quickly snapping out of it, Ryan shook his head and quickly laid his back toward the door to keep it in place.
"Everything is fine!" he replied back.
"Are you sure? Should I go there too—"
"No!" he quickly interrupted before she could say anything. "Everything's fine. Don't worry about it."
He then cursed before flinching when he felt another small tremor of the door and breathed out frustratingly. Looking out the window, he could see that he wasn't planning to stop anytime soon so he abruptly yelled "Stop!"
The door stopped moving and silence was heard. "Finally opening the door?" Keenan said with a smug smile.
"Only because you're causing a scene," Ryan pressed. "But you're not meeting her."
He took his silence as a form of agreement and quietly unlocked the door and only slightly, did he open a crack to see Keenan.
"So, what do you want?" Ryan said crossing his arms.
"I'm here to take her back," he replied frankly.
Ryan bit his tongue and gripped his sleeves.
"It's over, she doesn't need you in her life anymore," Ryan stated.
Keenan squinted his eyes at him and clicked his tongue.
"I'm her husband, I'm part of her life whether she likes it or not," Keenan gruffed.
