Chapter 27; Rescuing the prince

Rowoon squeezed his eyes shut, placing an arm to the ground to lift himself and groaning as his muscles contracted. He had made a pretty high fall, but luckily the bags filled with grain kept him from hitting the ground too hard. He blinked his eyes open and forced his body to roll over to his side, looking towards the fight.

Taehyun ran out of the little market place, doing as the wizard told him and throwing one of the pouches towards a group of soldiers. The fabric ripped open and thick, grey smoke appeared around them, fireworks shooting up and the fire that was caused by it burned their skin. The boy ran along, jumping over a fallen table to avoid the blades of the three soldiers that were following him.

Suddenly a soldier appeared in front of him, lifting his sword up high and Taehyun yelled, his feet sliding over the sand as he came to an abrupt stop and he threw the contents of the second pouch towards him.

The dust hit the soldier in the chest, and he looked down. Nothing happened at first and the men that had been followed him came to a stop too. The soldier got surrounded by a thick blue smoke coming up to his face. Taehyun's eyes widened and almost everyone stopped fighting as they watched the man growing, inch by inch until he was a good 3 foot taller than the rest of the men.

The boy swallowed. "Great." He muttered and frowned worriedly as he lifted his arms clenching his hands to fists in an attempt to get ready for the guy to attack.

The soldier looked at his hands, surprised with what happened but he soon smirked. He swung his hand to the side, hoping to hit the boy but Taehyun saw it coming, quickly ducking aside and seeing how five men were swept aside instead.

Yoongi punched a man in the face and pushed another one away from him, turning around and grissing a large knife from someone's hands. He pulled his arm back before he threw the weapon towards the giant, grunting and resuming fighting with the soldiers next to him.

The king slowly stood up, watching how one of his men turned into a giant, a murder machine, a fighter from higher ranks. He watched over to the prince, who was kicking someone in the chest and spinning around to avoid blades getting swung at him from left and right. Rowoon didn't see any of his so-called protectors nearby, so he smirked and started walking towards the boy, ignoring the fight and focusing on him only.

Warrior Yoongi sliced a sword through a soldier's arm, catching glimpse of the king who was stalking towards the blonde with large strides. He kicked a man in the crotch and turned his head to Taehyun. "Go save the prince!" He yelled. The boy's eyes widened and he whipped his head around, seeing how Rowoon and a few soldiers were approaching the prince quickly.

Taehyun jumped into action and took off running towards him, swiftly avoiding the blades of swords and axes and blocking every fist or leg that was being swung at him.

Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows and pursed his lips together. In all his years of training, all his studying of Martial Arts and all the tales he had heard of his teachers, he had never once read or seen anything like this before. The giant stepped towards him, the soldiers behind the warrior all ducking and scurrying away, but Yoongi didn't. He stood his ground and even though he had no idea how he was going to beat this.. this thing, he was definitely going to try.

He raised his sword up in defense, clenching his other hand to a fist as he waited for the guy to set the first move. The giant growled deeply and slammed a hand down to the floor. Yoongi jumped aside and ducked as another large hand flew over his head. He might be a good 25-and-a-bit inch shorter now, but he knew the man was way slower than him. He took advantage of that, and jumped backwards when the giant leapt forwards. This would be tough.

The warrior jumped up the stairs of the platform they had been standing on before the wizard came. He looked back and saw the giant bringing his fist down, the veins in his arms standing out as his bigger muscles bulged. Yoongi jumped up and climbed up the platform, standing on top of the wooden plank the ropes hung from.

The giant's hand came down on the stairs, splintering the wood and crushing it whole. When he growled his face came forwards, and Yoongi saw it as an opportunity, a weak spot where he could make some blows. He jumped up and kicked his legs forwards as hard as he could, kicking the oversized soldier in his face multiple times.

When he came down on the wooden plank again, however, the giant growled again, it probably being the closest to talking he could manage in this state and swung his arm towards the soldier. Though he was fast he couldn't jump up high enough in time, the palm of the soldier's hand hitting his side and causing him to soar through the sky before he landed on a stack of hay.

Yoongi groaned and huffed as he slowly sat up. Strands of hay tickled him everywhere and he could feel it sticking in his hair. He sighed and reached a hand up to pull some strands from his nose. He hated fighting giants now.

"Beomgyu!" Taehyun yelled as he jumped over a broken crate. The prince whipped his head around and saw him and the king running towards him, both accompanied by soldiers hot on their heels. "C'mon lets go!" The younger yelled and reached for his hand, pulling the blonde along when he grabbed it.

Together they ran towards the huge slingshot standing somewhere next to the fort, doing the first thing Taehyun could think of. He jumped up and into the wooden basket of the large weapon and pulled the prince up as well. Rowoon and what seemed to be around thirty soldiers were running after them, all wearing an angry expression, inching closer by the second and Taehyun knew he had to act fast.

Beomgyu was holding the fabric of the younger's vest tightly, looking over the side of the slingshot and tugging at his arm. "They're coming!" He yelled, his voice hoarse and sounding almost pleadingly. "I know, I know!" Taehyun yelled back, trying his best to get the rope that held the basket down loose as soon as possible.

He didn't know why he thought this was a good idea, really. He just knew he had to get the prince out of there and if he was honest, he wanted to get away too. He knew the warrior could take care of himself, and the dimpled wizard could just teleport them away so he wasn't really worried about them. His first priority was the platinum blonde next to him.

Yoongi turned his head and saw them struggling to get the rope undone and he didn't waste a moment. He kicked a guy away from him and yanked the bow from his hands, grabbing an arrow from the ground and squeezing one eye shut as he aimed at the rope.

"Hold on!" He yelled before he fired the arrow, getting attacked by a few soldiers again. The arrow soared through the sky and cut through the rope, giving Taehyun just enough time to get hold of the prince before the huge slingshot fired them away.

Rowoon's eyes widened and he shoved a soldier away from him as he watched the pair take their leave from the fort, going to god knows where.

Yoongi sighed, a weight off of his shoulders now that the boys were out of here and he ran to get to the wizard. The dimpled man came out of nowhere and grabbed his arm. "It's time to go." He said, pulling the warrior towards himself as he sprinkled a white powder over the two of them. Electric sparks appeared around them and before the soldiers could get to them they vanished into thin air.

Rowoon pursed his lips. This was supposed to be his wedding day, the day he became emperor and ruled all of the country. But instead, he and his men got beaten by a single warrior, a wizard, and a young boy that didn't even had any proper training. He growled and threw his sword to the floor.

Now he had to deal with nothing, prepare groups of men who had to clean the place up and sort all the broken things out. The giant soldier which happened to be one of the dumbest men he had wasn't helping either.

He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. This was so not how he had expected the day to go.
