Chapter 19; The circle

My team made me team captain hehe

"Invisible and teleporting wizards, powder that freezes people, baskets that can travel through time... and none of this is weird to you?"  Taehyun asked as he set his foot down onto something solid beneath the surface of the water.

They had successfully passed the mountain range after the night was over and were now crossing a small river, a small forest on both sides. The sun shone brightly again and it reflected on the water, shimmers appearing on the ripples of their movements.

"It's not weird," Yoongi responded with a shrug.  "It's just magic."

"We don't have magic back in my world."  Taehyun mentioned.

"Then how do you explain what can't be explained?"  The older asked, watching as some fish hurried away when they felt his movements and thinking danger was approaching them.

"We have science."  The young boy replied.  "Science explains everything."

Yoongi stepped out of the water and waited for the younger to do the same before they made their way towards a path visible between thick overgrown bushes. Taehyun had no idea where they were but the older seemed to know where they were going so he trusted him to lead the way.

"Does science explain a rainbow? Or a snowflake?"  The warrior asked, glancing at the boy over his shoulder. Taehyun nodded.  "Yeah."

"But does it explain how you feel when you see a rainbow or snowflake?" He asked him then, making the boy shake his head.  "Not really, no."

"So you do have magic after all."  He said as he pushed some low hanging branches aside and stepped onto the pathway that was behind them, holding them out of the way for the boy before letting them snap back into place.

"Feelings aren't magic though."  Taehyun exclaimed. Yoongi inhaled deeply as he looked over the road to see if they should head left to right, before he settled on left.  "Then what are they?"

The younger shrugged, hoisting the shield and arrow holder higher up on his shoulders.  "I don't know, they're feelings. They make you feel and do stuff you normally won't do." He explained. "Like when you meet this boy or girl you never knew the existence of, and suddenly you can't think of anything to say but you can't stop talking to them and your body is all like, hot and cold at the same time and your heart's beating like you just ran a mile in a minute,"  He ranted, walking ahead of the older.  "I-It's like..."  He trailed off, not knowing the word he was looking for to explain.

"Like magic?"  Yoongi suggested, watching as the boy turned around and sighed. He raised a brow as the younger opened his mouth after a few seconds.  "Yeah, I guess."  He said softly.

Yoongi chuckled and looked down as he shook his head, continuing to walk. It was the first time Taehyun had seen the man laugh and he honestly thought he should do it more often. The older had such a nice laugh to listen to, and the way his lips curled up into a cute gummy smile was so... so him. It fitted the male. Taehyun smiled and walked after the older, continuing their journey.

When the evening was just around the corner a few hours later the warrior had told him they would stay at a small shed for the night. It had been used as a storing place for something as wood in the past and Taehyun had set the shield and arrow holder down against the wall.

Now the boy was collecting branches which looked dry and good enough to keep a fire going with while the warrior was cooking something for the both of them to eat. He had took off his vest and left it at the shed as it wasn't that cold at the moment, but he was planning to put it on again once the night fell. He had collected a good handful of branches already so he headed back to shed.
