Caroline was asleep when Laurent carried Larry into the house. Larry was a little heavier than he thought, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. The house was silent except for the sound of his heavy footsteps echoing off the walls. He tried to be as quiet as he could as he walked past the staircase and towards the red room. He planned on using that room for Caroline pretty soon, but she would just have to wait. Laurent reached for the knob as best as he could and he twisted it, opening up the door. He walked into the room and he kicked the door shut behind him, wincing when it slammed shut. He was worried that Caroline might wake up and investigate the sound, but she knew better than to go into the room without his permission again.
Laurent grunted as he walked towards the chair sitting by the wall and he threw Larry into it, sitting him upright. He stepped back for a few seconds to catch his breath and he looked down at the unconscious body, a slither of guilt crawling through him. He was stunned that he was willing to risk the life of his brother to keep Caroline there with him at the house, but he knew it was what's best. He was keeping Caroline happy, and it was going to stay like that. Nobody, not even his brother, was going to ruin that for him.
Laurent decided to waste no more time as he walked over to the closet across the room, opening the doors up. There were plenty of things he could use to keep Larry quiet, but the only thing he really needed was duct tape, rope, and zip ties. He grabbed those three things and he shut the closet doors, turning back around to face Larry. He walked behind the chair and he sat Larry up, bringing both of his arms behind him. He acted fast as he undid the rope, proceeding to tie it around both of Larry's wrists. He made sure it was secured tight and hard to get out of with a few knots he learned to do years ago. He then opened up the zip ties and he slid one of them right between his hands, pushing the end of it in its place. He pulled it until the rope resembled handcuffs and he chuckled to himself, looking down at his beautiful work. He stood straight and he walked back to the front of the chair opening up the tape. He took the plastic off of it and he felt along the entirety of it, trying to find the part to peel back.
While he was doing that, his head shot up when he heard a door open and close upstairs, encouraging him to act faster. He finally found the end of the tape and he pulled it until it was enough to put around Larry's mouth. He ripped the thick tape with his teeth, and he pushed Larry's head back, sealing his lips with the tape. There was a gash on the side of Larry's head where blood trickled down from, but Laurent paid it no mind.
"I'm sorry, brother," he sighed, rubbing Larry's shoulders. "I will make everything quick for you soon. For now, stay here and behave. D'accord?"
He wasn't surprised when Larry didn't answer for obvious reasons and he backed away from the chair, turning on his heel to head out of the room. Once the door was closed behind him, he hurried away from that area, a frown taking over his features when he heard shuffling in the kitchen. When he entered it, he smiled when he saw Caroline taking out a box of hot pockets from the freezer, setting them on the counter.
"You hungry, baby?" He asked, causing her to jump. She turned around and she smiled at him as he walked towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist when he reached her.
"Yes," she replied, pressing her chin against his chest. "I took a nap after you left because I thought you'd be out for a while."
"Did I wake you?"
"Kind of," she chuckled. "When I heard the door close, I knew you were home. How's Larry by the way? Did something happen to him?"
Laurent tried to hold back the scowl that threatened to appear on his face and he clenched his jaw, nodding as he looked away from her.
"He went home. He just have some trouble at work and we talk about it. Do not worry about it, okay?"
"Okay," she said, turning away from him against the counter. "What do you want for lunch?"
