Thor and Jamie walked on the rainbow bridge to see the castle ahead of them.

"It's so beautiful," Jamie said.

"Yes. It is," Thor responded then added, "Now Lady Jamie, I feel I should warn you about Loki."

"Okay. I mean, he did do the invasion, so I can see where this is going," she told him.

"Yes. But the part that you need to know is that he will try anything to make you free him. He is known for his tricks," Thor pointed out.

"Trust me, Thor. I was a little mischievous when I was younger, so I can tell what people like that can do," Jamie assured.

"Alright. But I'm going to have to let you go alone. If he sees me, he'll think something is going on," he said.

"Okay," she nodded.

They went into the castle and Jamie took in everything. She was entranced by all the gold and the frescoes above that told the history of Asgard.

Then they approached the dungeon doors. Jamie breathed in, let it out silently, then looked at Thor.

"Any other advice before I go in there?" Jamie asked.

"Just be careful," Thor told her.

"Will do," she nodded.

He smiled and left her to go inside. She calmly pushed the doors open and walked past all of the other cells where the other prisoners either gave her looks that made her uncomfortable or could kill her.

She then saw one prisoner, dressed in green and gold. He had long, raven black hair and blue eyes. She couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. He was too busy reading a book, not knowing who was there.

(A/N Loki's outfit. I know you guys know, but now he has more than one.)

"I'm not trying to escape

"I'm not trying to escape. So you can leave," he remarked harshly, thinking it was one of the guards.

Jamie chuckled and said, "I can see that, but I just got here."

He looked from his book in surprise to hear a new voice. He marked the page in his book, sat it down, got up, approached the end of the cell to where she was, and leaned against the wall.

"I'm guessing by your attire that Thor's been back to Midgard," Loki said in slight disgust.

"Yes. And I'm guessing by your attitude that that's why you're here," Jamie threw back with a smirk.

Loki let out a low growl at that comment.

"So what is your name, mortal? And what are you doing here?" he remarked.

"First off, my name is Jamie Dabbs. And second, I'm here to get to know you. Mainly your reason for the invasion and all," she answered.

"Well, if you must know, it's because you mortals need a king," Loki said.

"And that has to be you?" Jamie asked.

"Yes. You Midgardians are so inferior and need to know that we are gods," he explained harshly.

"I think we got that impression. But if we are so inferior, then how come most of the Avengers are mortal? They stopped the invasion and you, but the only one who wanted to show you any mercy was your own brother," she pointed out.

"He's not my brother! He never was! When I thought he was, I felt overshadowed because Odin told us both that we were born to be kings! And I tried to prove that when taking over Earth!" Loki shouted.

He sat down, his back to her. She was in slight shock by what he said, but her shock wasn't because of his outburst. She was like this because she knows where Loki's been. She then looked at the book at he was reading: Shakespeare's "As You Like It". She then remembered a quote she had heard from that exact book when growing up.

"'The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool'," she quoted.

Loki looked at her in slight confusion. He looked to his book then back to her.

"You know Shakespeare?" he asked.

(A/N Beauty and the Beast from 2017!)

She shrugged and said, "Yeah. I'm more of a 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Twelfth Night' kind of girl. But my parents taught me that quote and told me to live by it."

"And I suppose you are going to tell me the same thing," Loki remarked.

"Maybe. But I will also tell you this. You have things in common with us 'mortals' whether you want to admit it or not. Just from my perspective on the invasion, I was scared for my life. But I thought if I knew more about why it happened, I could understand it more," Jamie explained.

She sat on the edge of the cell and sighed. She moved some of her brown hair behind her ear as Loki sat on the edge on his side of the cell.

"You're not the only one who has felt overshadowed by others because of what they were destined to be. I liked to cause a little mischief in my family, but the only thing it did was get me in trouble. I will admit I still do it, but what's the point?" she said.

Loki studied her as she said this.

"You really do know how I feel," he replied.

"Yeah," Jamie sighed then said as she got up, "Well, I better get going. I'll come back, but if you ever get out of here and are in New York again, look me up."

"I just might," Loki smirked.

Jamie blushed slightly as she left. Loki didn't take his eyes off her until she disappeared.

"Not bad...for a mortal," he whispered.
