Not gonna lie this is turning out to be a realllll long book. I have like so many ideas and plotlines so there is heaps to come. Also please do not worry about me uploaded (or actually me stopping) i like to try and be about eight chapters ahead before i publish anything, so there is a lot of story planned out. I hope to finish it by the end of January and have it all edited and published by February.

Think of it as a deadline if you will!

But also enjoy the chapters

Zara stared at the white walls before her attempting to understand what was happening, where she was and why she was here. She squinted as she tried to move through the heavy fog in her mind.

She had a vague memory of a smiling girl with dark hair and dark eyes and feeling a twinge of emotion. She could remember that she'd been doing something very important, something that she needed to get done. She leaned her head back but found she couldn't. She went to reach up to check what was in the back of her head and frowned in confusion, realising her hands were in black chains.

Zara sighed, but with great effort lifted her hands over her head, and let her fingers explore. She realised that there were tubes extending from her skull and let out a small sigh.

That was weird. Or was it? Did she normally have stuff in her brain?

She let her hands fall back down in front of her and took to staring at the wall. Everything was so hazy, and it was hard to think. She was aware that she was in trouble but couldn't form the ability to do anything about it.

She instead stared at the wall, her eyes slowly blinking. The world began to shudder and blur even more until it was different. She was standing and in front of her were twelve figures. They were standing together, hands on weapons and looks of contempt on their faces. She was mad at them; she didn't know why or even her own name. She knew that she was mad and angry. She could feel her arms jerking as she silently screamed at them.

She'd been through this before.

And then she was back in the white room, her head pulsing.

Her eyes were hurting from the brightness now and she closed her eyes, surprised when she was dragged to her feet. Her eyes peeled open and she looked at the two Protectors who held her in her grasp. One of them reached behind her and she felt the jerk of the tubes from her skull. It was agonising as the tubing was torn from inside her mind. Yet, she felt as if the world had been turned back on. Everything immediately began to get clearer, her vision focusing and her hearing increasing.

The Protectors began to drag her out. While her senses were rapidly returning, her memory and ability to move was still compromised. Zara slowly began to piece together what she was, and why she was here.

It began to rush back. Cassie and her destiny. George the Angel Reaper. The searing agony as she'd been pulled from Cassie.

And now she was here, in chains and being dragged so what she presumed to be the council's office.

Zara realised that she was most certainly going to be executed. Yet, she did not fear for herself. Before, she'd lived in this realm in fear that she would be discovered. Her sole concern was ensuring her safety and that her life remained intact. But right now, she did not care if she died, for if she died protecting Cassie than she had no issue. It was a noble way to die in her opinion, and she would not shy away from it if it meant preserving Cassie's life.

Yet, if she died Zara was certain that her human charge would not live. They would kill her in order to restore Fate, and that could not be allowed.
