Zara woke up staring at the sky. The sky was mostly blue, with a bit of red tinging the skyline from the sun still struggling to properly rise. Clouds swirled around and a bird let out a squawk before flying overhead. The world was beautiful.
Slowly Zara sat herself up and glanced around. She found herself sitting in the same field she had only just been murdered in. There were many werewolves shifted to human form who were tending to the injured and carrying the dead. Zara didn't say anything at first, watching in interest to make sure a promise was filled.
A scream of shock broke forth as a young woman groaned and sat up, spooking the young male next to her who was covering her face with a cloth. Life washed over the battlefield like a wave, as everyone slowly sat up. Zara watched as those injured with large gushing wounds skins healed. She watched as everything inflicted upon the innocent was healed.
She brought herself up to her feet, making her way over to where the remains of the portal lay. Cassie lay flat on her stomach, unstirring. Zara stood back and watched calmly. The first thing she noticed was the blood that had trickled out along the grass. It slowly retracted back, almost in reverse until it was gone. Then Cassie launched up with a gasp.
Her cheek had grass stuck to it and her eyes were frantic. She glanced around confused. It took Cassie a few seconds to understand, glancing around as she attempted to figure out what had happened. When her eyes locked with Zara's she smiled. "What did you do?"
"Made things right," Zara said softly, helping to pull Cassie up.
The human patted at her chest, where the only evidence of her fatal stabbing was the tear in her shirt. She looked up at Zara and gave her a smile with eyes sparkling. Cassie walked forward slowly, before leaping at Zara and wrapping her arms tightly around her. The embrace was tight, Cassie's arms firmly wrapped around Zara's shoulders. Zara returned the hug quickly, squeezing Cassie tightly as if to ensure she was real.
Cassie slowly withdrew her arms and looked back at the field and the portal. "What did I miss?"
"Anya killed Mary, I found out some stuff about myself, and everyone came back."
A breath escaped Cassie lips. Her eyes widened and filled with tears. Before Zara could say another word, she pivoted on her heel and sprinted down the field. Zara watched as she reached where Jace was staggering to his feet. Cassie launched at him with such speed that the two were knocked to the ground together locked in each other's arms.
"You're Zara again," a soft voice called.
Zara turned her head and felt the grin spread across her face. She wasn't as violent in her hug as Cassie. Instead, Zara and Harriet reached each other at the same time with both opening their arms up. Zara pressed herself against Harriet, feeling her soft skin and smelling her flowery hair. Harriet was real. Before she could think to much about it, Zara pulled her face up and pressed her lips tightly to Harriet's. They stayed like that for an endless amount of time. Their bodies locked together and lips pressed. Zara didn't care who was around or how long. She was here with Harriet and they had all survived.
Zara had won
