Chapter IX - Baby Mama

Jedi's aren't supposed to marry but since this is a new era and the universe is finally at peace, Rey couldn't wait any longer to marry you. You've been through a lot together and you want to spend the rest of your lives together. You know that you'd never separate but Rey wanted to make it official as did you so you married pretty quickly when Rey asked. The entire Resistance was happy for you and they made sure to throw the biggest and best ceremony they could. It was the best day of your life and about a year later, you decided to have a baby together. 

As soon as you told Rey that you were pregnant with her baby, she was over the moon and still is. Rey is going to be an amazing mother and you can't wait to see her interact with your baby. She's both excited and nervous about having a baby, which is totally normal. You feel the same way but you know that as long as you have Rey, you'll be fine. She stays by your side as much as possible because she doesn't want to leave you alone and the feeling is extremely comforting and that in itself reinforces how good of a mother Rey will be.

As the months progress, Rey is so good with you. She's so gentle and caring. She takes amazing care of you by making sure that you have everything you need all the time. When you have a bout of morning sickness, Rey is there helping you through it and looking after you. She frets a lot over you but you have to reassure her that you're fine and that you're not made of glass. You worry sometimes that your morning sickness and other gross things that come with being pregnant will disgust her and push her away but Rey isn't going anywhere. She's there to stay and she doesn't care how sick you get or how many changes your body makes - she loves you and she's going to be with you no matter what. 

She always tells you how beautiful you look and how much she loves you. Rey understands what you're going through even though she hasn't been pregnant herself. However, she reads loads of parenting books to the point where she knows the in's and out's of a woman's body during pregnancy and because Rey is quite gifted in the medical department, she knows how to look after you properly and knows all of the ailments for the issues you face. She sometimes mothers you by making sure that you're looking after yourself and it can get quite overbearing but you know that Rey means well so you don't focus on it.

Rey likes to take you out and spoil you by getting you anything you want and taking you to nice places to help you relax and somewhat forget about being pregnant. She also likes to spoil your unborn baby by getting tons of baby toys and clothes and you often have to tell Rey to go easy on what she gets since you've already got ships full of things but Rey can't help herself sometimes. Also when you're out, Rey is so protective of you. She's always protective of you but she's SUPER protective now that you're pregnant. She makes sure that you're comfortable and that you're feeling okay. 

She makes sure that you have your space because a lot of people get excited when they see a pregnant woman so they come up and asks questions and since your wife is Rey (the woman who pretty much ended the First Order), everyone wants to know about you and your unborn baby. You answer their questions sometimes but other times you just want space and not to be pestered and Rey understands so she makes sure that people leave you alone or else she'll make them leave you alone. Not in a nasty way, just in a protective and caring way and thankfully, people understand and respect your wishes.

Rey has a special calendar on the wall where she literally counts down the days until you are due, crossing off the days and making sure that she has everything ready for when the big day comes. She loves feeling the baby kick and she gets so excited when it does. She often puts her head on your stomach to hear it rolling around and the smile on her face is priceless. You love watching Rey become enmeshed with you and your baby bump. She can just watch your baby move in your belly for hours. It fascinates her. All of it. 

She is blown away by how babies are created and how they can start off so small and grow into something amazing. Rey wishes that she could see inside your belly so she can watch your baby grow daily. Sometimes you think Rey's fascination and obsession over your baby is a little weird but that's just who Rey is and she's all about learning and loves experiencing new things and because this is your first baby together, she's all over it.

The big day finally comes and Rey is ready to go but she is still nervous. You can see that she's nervous but she pushes that aside to support you. She is by your side the entire time, holding your hand, comforting you, making sure that you're comfortable, and making sure that you are ready and have everything you need and want. When you start to push, you squeeze Rey's hand and focus on your breathing. Rey encourages you to keep going and you do and you eventually start to feel the baby push through you.

"Wow..." Rey's eyes are wide and her mouth is open when she leans over to look between your legs. "That's amazing."

"Rey! Get back here!" You snap.

Rey jolts back in position by your side and squeezes your hand in support. She tells you how well you're doing, telling you that you're almost there and you just need to push a little more. You know Rey wants to watch your baby being born but she can watch it later since she requested (with your permission, of course) the birth of their firstborn to be recorded. When the baby is almost out, you push with all your might and then you hear the first cry of your daughter.

You and Rey burst into tears at the sight of her and you let Rey cut the cord and have the first hold because you know how important this is to her and how much it means to her. She kisses the baby's head before passing her onto you where your tears fall onto her but you gently brush them away.

"Rey..." you sniff. "Our little girl... She's so perfect..."

"Just like her mother."

You look up at Rey who is smiling at you. You lean up for a kiss then look back down at your daughter whose bright, blue eyes are gazing up at you.
