Chapter XIV - At First Sight

It's a regular day when Rey meets you. You're fixing up an X-Wing craft when she sees you. You don't even realise that she's looking at you until you feel something strange coming from behind you. You turn around and see Rey staring at you and that's when time stops for her. She's instantly fascinated by you and she watches you for a moment, trying to see whether or not you're real or are just some illusion. 

The longer she stares at you, the more she starts to smile and the redder her cheeks become. You find it cute since you know Rey to be this indestructible woman who is a Jedi-in-training but here she is, gazing at you from afar as if you're the most incredible thing she's ever seen. You try hard not to blush yourself but the longer your eyes remain locked, the harder it becomes.

Rey has no idea who you are. She's never met you nor seen you before, which she thinks is odd since she would have remembered such a pretty face but she hasn't so she has to talk to you. She knows she has to. She can't do anything else until she does but it's easier said than done. She's super nervous about it and she tries to approach you and simply make small talk but she chickens out.

Rey is a brave woman who has held her own for so long and isn't afraid of anything but for some reason, she's afraid of you. Not in a bad way. No, she's intimidated by you in the best possible way. She's never seen anyone like you and she can't NOT talk to you. Her heart and mind won't let her but her fear of humiliation and rejection stops her. So, she decides to turn to those who she knows will look out for her and help her - Finn and Poe.

Rey rushes to the men who are working on the Falcon, prepping it for its next mission. Rey approaches them and tells them that she's seen the most beautiful woman and that she has to no, NEEDS to talk to her. Finn and Poe are shocked. Rey has always been independent and she has never come across as being someone who would develop a crush and furthermore, want to pursue a relationship. 

Nonetheless, Finn and Poe are more than happy to help Rey since they see her as their little sister. Rey talks about you and Poe instantly knows who she's talking about since you and Poe have gone on quite a few missions together and are good friends. Rey is taken aback but is glad that Poe knows you so she picks his brain, prying out as much information about you as she can.

Poe tells Rey all he knows before he says that he'll introduce the two of you. Rey is both excited and nervous but her nerves get the better of her and she tries to make excuses as to why she can't meet you straight away. However, Poe doesn't give in and ends up pulling Rey along with him in your direction. Rey's nerves are sky-high at this point and she's pretty sure she could cut Poe's hand off by the way he's grabbing her arm and yanking her beside him and she probably would if her palms weren't so sweaty.

Despite Rey being so nervous, she knows that she has to meet you and she can't stop smiling. As soon as she sees you, her smile is big and bright just as it was when she first saw you. Your eyes lock and butterflies erupt in her stomach because you are truly the most beautiful woman she has ever seen.

Rey finally reaches you and Poe does a quick introduction. Neither of you pays him any mind since you're too focused on one another and Rey is sure that she's already fallen in love.

"Hi... My name's Rey," her words are soft and you introduce yourself to her, extending your hand, which she promptly takes and you both melt at the touch.

Poe decides to leave the two of you alone and you must admit, it's quite awkward at first because you have no idea what to say to each other. Rey has never been so nervous in her life. She can barely keep her feet, she stumbles over her words, and she feels like she's going to break something if she doesn't get herself under control. 

You find her nervousness super cute and you think she picks up on that since she can't stop smiling at you. Rey thinks your adorable, beautiful, charming, and so much more. She ends up helping you on the X-Wing, which calms both of you down.

You eventually get talking and you end up talking for hours. Rey is such an interesting person and you love hearing about her and her past but Rey thinks you're the most fascinating person she has ever met. You two end up talking for hours on end. You have dinner together in the mess hall and end up having a hot beverage out under the stars. 

You honestly can't get enough of one another and that's when you both lean in and steal a kiss. It's a magical moment, causing the two of you to smile like complete idiots but you couldn't be happier. Rey tells you how nice the kiss was and finally plucks up the courage to ask you out. You say, "yes" and the rest is history.
