I awoke to plenty of notifications but nothing from Colson. My sober mind, began to regret pulling a stunt like that and strongly thought of deleting it. But I am single. I can post whatever I want.

By my lunch break, I had a text from Trevor: "Last night was a blast! I'm glad I got to hang with you. Can I take you out this weekend?"

"Yeah, sure," I wrote back.

"Anything special you'd like to do?" he asked.

"Surprise me," I replied. I wasn't trying to play coy. I just couldn't care less. Accepting the date seemed like the right thing to do to help me move on. But emotionally, I wasn't there.

Leslie called into the kitchen where I sat finishing my salad, "Luna, your next client is here."

"Thank you, Leslie" I replied, gathering my container and cleaning the area where I sat/

My next service is a signature facial. I checked my watch to see I would begin right on schedule. It was a point of pride that I stay on time for each of my services.

I stepped into the lobby, my customer service smile ready, but it slipped away and I sighed heavily.

"Hey," That honey-silk voice said nonchalantly, and I met those damn blue eyes that were already locked on mine with his smile shining brightly like it was only for me.

"Colson, what are you doing here?" I asked crossing my arms defensively in an act to cover up how happy I was to see him. And I was painfully happy to see him. It was a physical act to resist running up to him and throwing my arms around him and begging him to stay with me. But that was not the type of person I wanted to be, and I would stay my course.

"Well," he began, his voice shaking nervously, "I needed some help with my skin so I came to the best!" He opened his arms like his statement was obvious. He fidgeted slightly. He was definitely nervous. I liked that I made him nervous. His hair fell over his face as he waited for me to respond. He seemed almost, shy.

"Are you honestly telling me you're interested in a facial?" I demanded.

It seemed unlikely but I wanted to call his bluff.

He nodded in mock seriousness.

"You're paying full price," I clarified.

"Of course!" he replied.

"And leaving a generous tip," I pointed my finger at him.

"Obviously," he agreed.

"Ok follow me." I turned, leading him to my esthetics room.

Why is he here? What does this mean? What he in town, or did he fly out here to see me? And if he was here to see me why is he playing coy? He wanted help with skin care, HA! Did he think I was stupid? Maybe I am for going along with this. How long will he let this charade go on?

I let him pass me to enter the room.

"You'll need to remove your shirt for the service and any jewelry," I explained, as I do all my clients. Just a routine facial, with a regular client, who wasn't the one who made my heart swell and pound against my chest.

"Ok, ok. What about pants?" he asked, pointing to his denim.

"Leave them on," I said narrowly.

"Alright," he smirked.

"Then climb into the bed, under the blanket. I'll knock on the door in a minute." I finished my instructions.

"Gotcha," he replied and began to remove his shirt.
