Hermione woke up with a smile on her face. It had been a week since her encounter with Malfoy and she was excited to see him. She made her way to the library after finishing her lunch and sat by the window. She couldn't believe it was already March. Two more months and the school year was over.
As she sat and daydreamed, her blonde friend came and sat next to her, waving his hands in front of her. "Earth to Hermione"
"Oh hi sorry just thinking."
"About?" he asked as he got out some parchment.
"Just how fast this year went by." She said with a smile. The library was empty because it was a sunny day and mostly everyone was either in the courtyard or by the lake.
"It has been a whirlwind." He said as he started to do the DADA assignment for the next week. "But I'm not going to miss our crazy DADA Professor. He is truly insane"
"They don't call him Mad-Eye for nothing Draco"
The pair smiled and began to work, with their hands touching lightly on the table. An hour had went by and the pair were interrupted by the sound of none other than Victor Krum.
"Hermione? Where are you?" he said in a voice that was too loud for the library.
Hermione shook her head and looked down. She did not want to talk to him right now. "Hide me" she said in a whisper.
"What?" Draco asked confused.
"Hide me. If Krum comes over here he won't let us get any work done and he'll ask 17 different questions. Please hide me," she said urgently. Draco nodded and pulled Hermione into his lap. "What are you doing?" She asked confused
"Do you trust me?" He questioned. She paused and nodded. "Ok then. My seat is angled away from him. Put on my green sweater and just lean against me with your head nuzzled in my neck. Even if he does come over here, he's going to assume you're some slytherin girl with me" Draco explained. Hermione did as she was told.
She quickly pulled her red jumper off her head and replaced it with the green one hanging on the back of Draco's chair. Draco smiled lightly, seeing her in his house colors. She scrambled back into his lap and hid her face in his neck.
"Hermione? Hermione?" She heard around the library. Krum walked through the aisles of bookshelves and was eventually ushered out by Madame Pince, who claimed he was creating a ruckus and that Hermione was not in the library.
"Is he gone," Hermione asked as she moved her head to Draco's chest.
"I think so," Draco whispered, looking down at the girl in his arms. He smiled at the thought that this was not a dream and she really was in his arms. Before he had a second to get another word out, she leaned up and kissed him.
In that moment, everything stopped. Hermione pulled away and moved to get up. "I'm so sorry. That was uncalled for," she said softly. Draco wrapped his arm around her waist, trapping her in his lap.
"Hey, don't I get a say in this?" he said as he leaned down to kiss her again. He felt her smile against his lips as she played with his hair. They pulled away after a couple of seconds, but only enough to look into each others' eyes. "That Gryffindor courage. What would I do without it?" he said with a small smile. A genuine, full of happiness, smile.
