It had been 5 months since they had been on the run. Hermione hadn't seen Draco since the day of the wedding. She missed him, his smile, his laugh, his arms around her, his jokes.
It was Christmas Day and she was twirling her ring around her finger. In the past few months, she began to wear it on her ring finger rather than as a necklace. She needed it. It was her beacon in a time of darkness.
"Hermione?" Harry asked waking up from the night before. "Did we escape?"
"Yeah Harry we're fine. But your wand broke in the process,"
"Are you kidding me? Hermione what happened last night?"
"A lot happened Harry. Anyway, now that you're awake, I'm going to go to sleep." She said, walking into the tent. She laid down on the bed and began to cry. She just wanted this to be over. She fell into a slumber and woke up wrapped in two arms. She looked up and saw blonde hair and smiled. "You're here?"
"Only for a little. I wanted to see you. Happy Christmas my love,"
"Happy Christmas my prince," she said stroking his cheek before laying against his chest, closing her eyes. She prayed he would be there when she woke up but she was not that lucky. When she opened her eyes for the second time, he was gone, but she could still feel his warmth.

3 more months had passed. Hermione and Draco spent their 3 year anniversary apart, because it was far too risky to see each other. Then, Harry accidentally spoke Voldemort's name and the trio was captured.
Hermione found herself in the familiar manor once again. Except this time, she was not safe and sound with the love of her life. No, this time she was trapped. She looked up to see Narcissa and Draco peering at her in horror.
"Is this Harry Potter?" Greyback asks as Draco looks at him. He shakes his head, saying he doesn't know. He looks at Hermione with tears in his eyes. "And this girl? Do you recognize her?"
"Not at all." Draco says looking back at his mother. Narcissa shakes her head and pulls him back.
"If you reveal it now, we're all dead. Don't worry, I'll handle it," she whispers. "Now now let's not be in a hurry. We must be sure before we call the Dark Lord," she said as she stepped forward, grabbing Hermione from Greyback's grasp. She relaxed, feeling Narcissa gently patting her arm. Draco stood next to her, his hands behind his back as he leaned against the wall. His shoulder touched hers, as a means to signal he was there.
Hermione looked to her side at him, trying to catch his eyes. He looked down, not wanting to meet her eyes. He felt absolutely disgusting. Hermione coughed loudly, gasping for air as her lungs struggled. Draco looked at her in horror before calmly leaving the room and returning with water. He handed it to her and she responded with a small smile. Soon after Bellatrix Lestrange showed up, interrogating Hermione for raiding her vault. Harry and Ron were locked below the stairs, unable to help.
"Narcissa and Draco were awfully chummy with Hermione don't you think?" Ron asked, as he paced in the cell. Harry looked up in confusion.
"Ron what on earth do you mean? They're up there torturing her,"
"No I think there's something going on between them. It's more than just being acquaintances," Ron said, crossing his arms.
"He loves her," Luna said, standing up from her spot in the corner. "How have you two not seen it by now?"
"Luna, it's not the time for jokes right now," Harry said.
"I'm not joking Harry." She said seriously. He had never seen Luna like this. Harry looked at her and then at Ron, with his eyes wide.
