I Had Another Adventure!

So last night one of my roommates asked if I wanted to go to the store with her and a couple more of my roommates. I was bored so I said yes but wasn't going to buy anything.

After we bought everything and drive back we emptied the trunk and slammed it closed and right when we did all the parking lot lights went out. At the exact moment when we closed the trunk. People immediately began sticking their heads out of their apartment doors and asking what was going on and lots of people began screaming and yelling. Most of the yells sounded happy or excited. A couple didn't but I wasn't worried.

I LOVE power outages. I love them. All I lead my roommates back to the apartment having THE BEST time while they all kept complaining that they couldn't see. It was snowy out with clouds so the light reflection was plenty enough to see, even though it was 10:30 at night.

So we got back and quickly put the stuff in the fridge and closed it hoping that the cold air would stay in the fridge. Then we ate ice cream and I convinced a couple of my roommates to go outside. I could see a large crowd between apartment buildings and some guy had a really bright green laser pointer so I wanted in on the action.

We mostly stood around and talked about playing music really loudly and having a small party. We didn't because nobody had a speaker XD. I kept hearing things that sounded like they could either be fireworks or gunshots in the distance. Someone who knew somebody in a different part of the city said that the power had gone out in the entire city. We couldn't see the campus because of the fog and the fact that there was no power and a few people in our little group of college people who don't actually know each other left to go explore the campus.

I stayed. I am so glad I did.

We started talking about playing some sort of game. I was leaning towards hide and seek and then somebody said that the building 2 fourth floor was completely empty and all the apartments were unlocked. We all ran to play hide and seek there.

Only one of my roommates was still with me at this point and she was terrified to hide alone so I said she could come with me. We slipped into one of the empty apartments and she his in a closet and I hid in a tiny cupboard under the sink. I take hide and seek very seriously.

A minute later we heard someone come in singing the Scooby Doo theme song and he rummaged around for a bit and left. My roommate thought he was one of the seekers and left to go see. I stayed out because I wanted to win and because he sounded more like he was looking for a place to hide. That or he was just a really really crappy seeker.

I couldn't see because I was in a tiny cupboard in the back of an abandoned apartment while the power was out, so I just listened for people.

I ended up either dozing or completely falling asleep in this tiny cupboard, I honestly don't know which, but nobody came into my apartment. The doors are really loud so I would've heard.

At around midnight the power came back on the woke me up with the light streaming through the crack in the cupboard doors. I checked the time, saw that the power wasn't out anymore, and realized that this was not fun anymore. I'd been in the cupboard for about an hour.

I left the apartment and immediately ran into two of my roommates who had been knocking on apartment doors. They looked really relieved to see me and when I asked why they explained.

So apparently the moment my roommate left a manager had come and started going through apartments telling everyone to come out and leave because we weren't allowed to do this. Somehow they missed my apartment completely because I definitely would've heard someone come in and start yelling before locking the door.

My roommate had forgotten which apartment I was in and spent the time knocking on all of them.

I had so much hide and seek energy that nobody could find me. Good thing I decided to come out when I did.

I think I won.
