DragonWriter664 tagged me so I gotta do it.
Yeah
On a scale of 1-10, how good do you think you are at art?
. . . 1.5. I'll give myself some credit.
Digital or traditional?
I'm waaaaaaay better at traditional, and can only really do digital by using a traditional sketch. Digital is pretty fun though, as I try to figure out how to do it XD
What's your drawing program?
Autodesk sketchbook. I learn something new about it every time I use it because who needs to read instructions?
What's your preferred medium?
A pencil? Idk I feel like I can pick up most art mediums and make something ok. EXCEPT ORIGAMI. Origami is hard.
What's your best drawing so far in your opinion?
Probably the last one I did. The newest chapter in my art book because I don't have the picture on this device to post it in this book XD. I'm fairly proud of it because I was practicing background, digital painting, and sort of realism and it turned out ok? All yeah that one.
What do you prefer to draw?
Dragons. Because I have no talent for anything else.
Do you prefer drawing fanart or original art?
I mostly just draw my own OCs, some of which are in the Wings of Fire universe so does that count? Any other fanart that I draw I never post because I don't know how to human and I'm embarrassed about them. So yeah original art I guess.
What do you do when you find an artist that's super good at art? Do you study their art so you can be as good as them someday? Or do you cry in a corner due to low self-esteem?
Cry in the corner. And also stare at the gorgeous art through my tears. I do study it though, but only after crying.
What mainly inspired your current art style?
Absolutely no idea.
Basic thought process when making OCs?
They just sort of pop out of nowhere and either tell me their backstory myrtle by little the more I develop them, or sometimes they just appear all at once and blurt their backstory. Unless the name comes immediately, it's really hard to find a name for them because that's hard because a name is important. So yeah, the voices in my head are my OCs XD
How much paper do you think you go through in a month?
Lots and lots and lots. Many random scratch papers covered in doodles. I'm almost out of sketchbooks.
Do you suffer from low self-esteem due to the fact that you don't think you're good enough?
Yes.
Where do you mainly post your art?
Here. I don't have anywhere else really.
If someone online comes up to you and starts being rude about your art, what would your response be?
Well up until last week I thought I would be able to just ignore them and brush it off, but then I got my first hate comment (not about my art, just an attack at me) and I kind of broke down and immediately deleted it and blocked them, so I guess feel really really badly.
What's your best advice for beginner artists (Other than "just keep practicing")?
Don't look to the future as something unattainable and constantly compare yourself to your ideal future abilities. I do this and get really discouraged, wishing I could be that person instead of the one I am now. When I look back at my last abilities and see how far I've come is when I feel a lot better about myself. Any improvement is good, so don't get discouraged and give up, because you will always improve if you keep going.
So yeah, pretty sure anyone I'd tagged was already tagged by DragonWriter so that's it. :)
