Blake's POV
It was geography within a few minutes where Jax would probably meet us. I usually know what they have and apparently Jax was the only who had another, which was literature. The bell rang signalling to the next class. Well I wasn't really in the mood of going, so I wanted to bunk it but Mason didn't, thus expecting all of us to be present there.
You must be thinking why we all easily agree to his words. It's usually because he's quite sensitive and he has had a difficult childhood together with Jason but the only difference is that Jason is good at holding it together. When we walked in, Jax was easily spotted as he had already taken his seat to our place. He seemed off too, like sad, pissed, upset, all together which is weird because in the morning he was alright. Something must have happened during literature.
Max grabbed a chair next to Jax and asked "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Shortly replied.
"Then why do you look so pissed? Shall I ask who or what made you feel this way?" Jay asked cockily.
"It's Karoline with a K."
"What about her? And why are you adding that K?" Mason asked
"I thought it started with a C" Aiden murmured.
"Well, that's how she likes it and literally gets mad if someone pronounces it the wrong way."
"And what about the problem?" Jason asked.
He kept his arms on the desk and laid his head on it, facing us as he said "I don't know, I am just not able to crack her. Like it's just so hard to understand her. Can you believe she hasn't even smiled today, not a single smile?" "She didn't even smile on my pickup lines!" he murmured the last part to himself but pretty much everyone heard it.
"God really! Jax using pickup lines!!!" Mason said.
"That's unbelievable." Jason added.
"But I don't understand one thing. Since when did you start taking interest in people?" Max asked.
"Getting comfortable with her too." I added.
"I wasn't the one who gave her a nickname." He replied staring right into my eyes.
"I am not the only one." I said as I shrugged my shoulders. I am not completely wrong because even Max calls her chipmunk and Jay calls her Kare – bear too. I got a hit on my head and it was definitely Max.
"But it does not hold that much amount of importance as yours!" Max replied back
"What do you mean by that?"
"He means to say that ours is not that sentimental like yours. It means just so much like HAZEL!" Jay said putting hell a lot of exaggeration on his sentence.
"Hazel, be mine. I love you. I can't live without you." Jay said faking his romantic emotions as he pulled Max closer to him.
"Shut it. It's got no meaning. I just like the name okay. Stop making a fuss." I replied.
"Come on, we all know you are lying, just admit it baby." Alex started playing along too.
"Oh my god!!! What's wrong with you guys?"
"Just love in the air..." Jason replied.
"Shut up"
"Admit it"
"Shut up"
"Admi..." they didn't get to finish as Jax interrupted along with the teacher.
"Ahhhh... Shush you guys. I am not in the mood." He replied and turned his head.
"Do you like her?" I asked.
"Gosh! NO!"
"Don't worry Jax he's just confirming if his love is still single or not." Max said and everyone laughed.
"Don't you think you should be more worried about Taylor than me?" I replied teasing him a little.
He kind of does like her but never admits but after all these years I know the words that he wants to say before he has even prepared a sentence. Honestly, I have seen the way he looks at her but I really don't understand why he is hesitating to ask her out because I am sure she won't mind. Max does have the looks plus he's really kind, unlike me and the golden boy too.
After a few hours, it was then time for lunch and we headed to the cafeteria. None of the girls had arrived so far so we all took our plates and sat at our usual place. Selene soon joined us but Taylor and Karoline were nowhere to be seen.
They soon arrived. Ty had a smile on her face and hazel had a look that said I would be anywhere else than here. She looked so exhausted. I saw Jax's face lit up a little as she came but soon replaced with a frown. She grabbed a seat, leaving one empty for Ty I guess, next to Jax. Taylor soon came with a dish of hers. But what about Hazel?
Before I could ask, Max opened his mouth "Aren't you going to eat anything?"
"Not hungry." She replied shortly as she leaned back closing her eyes a little.
"Must be dieting." Mason said
"She doesn't need to." Selene said taking a stand for her and Hazel just shrugged. Either because she had no answer or didn't want to say anything.
"Karoline?" someone called out to her. Without even looking at that direction she smiled like she knew him. I looked at him, he didn't belong here, not only from Westbrook but also from NY. She stood up and went to him. He grabbed her and pulled in for a hug. Honestly, he was kind of a good looking guy, like he did have the looks and I am sure every girl present in the cafeteria had their eyes on him. They hugged each other for a while before Hazel pulled away and they talked a little.
Karoline said something to which he nodded and she then walked towards our table. She neared Jax and whispered something in his ear and slowly gave him a peck on his cheek. To say I was surprised would be an understatement because that move was completely out of the blue. Jax soon turned red but I didn't know if it was either because he got shy or embarrassed.
"Ty, I won't be able to come with you today." She asked
"So you are leaving right now?" Taylor soon asked
"Yeah"
"Ow, byee"
"Bye guys" with that said she left with that unknown person. Well at least from my perspective.
