Better Than Ever

Liz wakes up and Axton is still cuddling her and Junior is still asleep as well. Liz decided to lay there because she felt empty without her powers. It's only for a day though she can survive. She'll just be with Axton the whole day. That plan soon changed when Axton got up and kisses her like he does every morning and says "good morning princess." Axton just walked out the door and had to go on his main missions to find the vault. Once they find the vault then they can take over Helios. They're close to the vault so not much longer and Axton can go to Helios and rule over Helios with Liz. Junior started to awaken and she needed some food for it. Liz walked to Zed's and Junior followed her. She walked into Zed's and saw Roland awake, but still under pain medicine and wrapped up from the bullet wound Jack had left in his side. Liz walks over to him, "I'm so sorry Roland. Please forgive me." Roland raises his arm and rubs her head, "Liz it's fine. I'm fine. None of this is because of you. This is because of Jack. Now with him out of the way the new vault hunters can open the vault and not have issue." Liz gives a sly smile, "thanks Roland. Anyways where's Zed?" Roland points to the back room and Liz walks in on Zed stacking medicine. Zed turns to see her, "hey Liz. What do you need?" Liz looks around at the medicine and back to Zed, "do you have any dead bodies that are not rotted fully. I know weird question, but my skag, Junior needs some food." Zed gives her a weird look, "you're right. That is a weird question and I have a weird answer. Around back in the cooler. Also I need a favor." Liz smiles, "I'll be glad to fulfill it." Zed walks back into the room with Roland, "I need more pain medicine for Roland and I can send you to the place to get it." Liz nods, "sure thing. If fighting is involved it'll definitely be hard without my powers though." Zed puzzles, "you lost your powers?" Liz sighs, "for the day anyways because I can't cry and I did. If I cry then my powers shut down for a day, but if I cry a lot I loose them forever. That's why I couldn't handle nor feel love and it was risky when I felt it and this is where we end up." Zed gives wide eyes in shock, "okay. Well are you still up for the job or not?" Liz walks to the exit, "yep I'll head there after I feed Junior." Liz gets the dead body out of the cooler and gives some to Junior, "there you go my little baby." Junior does it's skag noise and eats its food. Liz then goes to Lilith and Roland's house and Junior follows Liz up the stairs. Liz walks over to Lilith, "can you watch Junior for me? I'm going to do a mission for Zed." Lilith gives her a confused look, "without your powers?" Liz nods, "yep. I'll just get some firepower and go get the medication that Zed needs." Lilith hesitates for a bit, "sure I'll watch Junior and you be careful because if you aren't I don't want to explain whatever happened to Axton." Liz gives a little laugh, "I'll be fine. I might take Jack out for a little walk." Lilith huffs a laugh, "okay just be careful." Liz wanders across pandora to where Zed wanted his medicine, "I knew it was most likely going to be far away so why in the world did I not get a catch a ride?" Liz shakes her head and keeps walking the desert climate and within and hour of walking away from Sanctuary she finally made it to a bandit village, "normal humans do this all the time how hard can it be?" Liz sneaks up to the village and figures out a plan. Liz thinks her plan to herself, 'there's two right in front and possibly three or more in the back, then in the way back we have at least five. What if I start from the front and work my way back because then the people from the back will come up here so I need some cover." She crawls to the nearest cover and aims at the guard who's looking away. When she shoots she turns to the next one and shoots then they all go for cover. She watches them pop up one by one and cleans them out. She laughs to herself, "maybe I can get used to this." She walks to the medical room and throws every medicine bottle she finds into her bag and walks out back to Sanctuary. She finds a catch a ride on the way and gets a car. She drives for a little while and makes it back to Sanctuary. The gates open and she parks her car and walks to what she guesses she can call home. She walks into Roland and Lilith's house and gets Junior. After meeting with Junior she goes to Zed's to give him the medicine and check on Roland. Liz smirks, "feeling better yet?" Roland smiles at her, "better than ever." Liz gives a tiny laugh and feeds Junior then goes back to Axton's house with it. Axton is surprisingly there cleaning his guns and he turns to her, "so how'd your mission go... y'know without your powers and all." Liz embraces him, "it went great. I didn't need my fire powers, but I did have firepower." Axton chuckles, "now you know what being a normal human feels like." Liz smiles and gives him a little kiss, "yep." Axton returns a kiss that seems to last forever, but only lasted for a few seconds, "at least you're okay. If you would have told me I would've come and helped." Liz brakes the embrace and rolls her eyes, "it was only a tiny mission and I'm too good without powers and better than ever with powers." Axton smirks, "I'd still protect you either way." Liz giggles, "I know you would, but like I said with my powers I'm better than ever." Axton shakes his head with a grin and goes back to cleaning his guns. Liz walks out with Junior in tow Axton puzzles, "where are you going now?" Liz shrugs, "I don't know, but do you want to go mess with some bandits because I sure as hell do." Axton gives a wide smile, "let's go." Axton follows Liz and Junior to the car that she'd had before. Liz gets into the driver's seat and smiles at Axton, "you're finally included in tonight's mess with bandits." Axton nods, "yes." Liz smirks and starts to drive off, "I have a good idea. What if I do my normal flirt and then you can be like, 'aye yo step off my girl'." Axton chuckles, "is that what y'all do?" Liz giggles, "yes that's what we do. We get them very into us with flirting and then we either kill them or harm them." Axton shakes his head, "what am I going to do with y'all?" Liz shrugs and continues to drive to a bandit area. Instead of near the overpass Liz decides to go in the opposite direction near the skag pits and find some bandits there. Liz stops in front of one and gets out it's almost near sundown so soon she'll get her powers back. Liz tells Axton to hide while she goes up to the night bandit guard to flirt. The bandit grunts, "what's a little lovely like you doing out here at this time alone?" Liz looks around, "that's what I'm trying to figure out? I need someone to look out for me. I mean I can't fight all alone." The bandit wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her into him taking her by surprise, "I could be that one. What do you think?" Liz sees Axton on the corner of her eye creeping over and smiles to the bandit, "that spot is taken sorry." The bandit gets confused and Axton cuts in and pushes the bandit, "that's me. Why are you messing with my lady?" The bandit gets scared, "I-I didn't know I'm sorry." Axton wraps his shirt up in his hand, "don't let it happen again. You hear me?" The bandit's eyes fill with fear, "it won't." Axton smirks, "good." Axton walks back to Liz and they walk away back to the car. Liz grins, "wasn't that fun?" Axton chuckles, "it actually was." Liz suddenly falls to the ground and Axton tries to run for her, but flames burst everywhere sending him back to the sand with force. Liz rises from the flames with fire wings and fiery red eyes then falls back to the ground on her feet. Axton watches, shocked at what he just saw, "what the fuck was that!? Are your powers back?" Liz shrugs, "I don't know." She aims her arm and tenses up and a flame shoots out. Axton gets up quick, "they're back!" Liz hugs him and he jumps back, "ah you're hot! Well you're hot, but I mean like actually hot." Liz looks at her arms, "why's that? Maybe I need to cool off after my powers return." Axton nods, "maybe." Liz giggles and opens her arms, "give me a hug." Axton gives a huffed laugh, "I want to keep my skin, thank you." Liz gives a fake pout, "well I guess let's wait, but my powers feel different like they're more powerful." Axton knits his brows together, "you had wings of fire. Can you fly?" Liz tenses her shoulder blades and a burst of flame covered wings show and lifts her off the ground, "I'm feeling better than ever. I can fucking fly!"

Note: she now has cool powers, but is hot at the touch which may ware off. Idk yet. Also have any of y'all read the book series "wings of fire"? It was a good series.
