C A D E

THE SAME STIFF AND TIGHTLY structured uniform the general wore yesterday during the meeting made me sweat even more in this dry summer heat. We could freely move our limbs but my body felt rigid under this cloth. Looking at the men and women swarming around, wearing the same exact uniform, I have concluded that maybe I wasn't just used to wearing this. The uniform was designed in a manner wherein those who wore it could move flexibly. But still, though. Never had I ever imagined and daydreamed about wearing one of these.

This was our disguise. Midnight blue camouflaged uniforms that would certainly make us blend to the deep seas. And when we arrived at Zeus, we were going to reveal the comfortable black spandex underneath. For now, I'd have to endure.

The moon bathed everything with its silver light. The dry air outside was crisp I could feel my lungs jumping in my chest. The stars twinkled above and watched us if we'll succeed or not.

Ezerina, leaning on metal boxes on top of each other, twirled the camouflaged cap on her index finger while Kato knelt and tied his boots. Bea and Deo walked towards us, talking about something I never bothered about like I did when she and Kato talked about something. Deo, not wearing a uniform but sporting a simple white shirt and dark pants, looked concerned. Bea waved her hand, dismissing whatever it was that made him worry. He released a sigh of defeat and nodded. I adjusted my earpiece.

"Kailangan kong maiwan dito. To help organize the arriving men from our main base at para protektahan itong farm kung sakaling subukan na namang kunin ng kapatid ko 'to."

Ezerina said and stopped twirling the cap.

That earned her a glare from Bea but a smile from Deo.

"To be honest, yes," pagsang-ayon niya. "At 'wag niyo sanang tingnan 'yon sa masamang paraan. It only means you are the hope of our cause. Look at me, I was a secret weapon of the military for years." The smile never left his lips and Bea squeezed his hand for a moment and let go.

Ezerina shrugged and tied her dark red locks and hiding it underneath the cap.

Colonel Oshiro was talking to Lieutenat Generla Loyola and it looked like they were in the middle of a grave discussion.

"Disable Zeus and infiltrate the Capitol Palace. Do the mission discreetly and—"

I bet that's what you did all night anyways."

"Shut up," Bea hissed, but her blush betrayed the ferocity of her voice.
