Spreading Emotions (Au)

Steven Pov

I wake up in my bed. I struggle to pull off the covers. 'Why am I so weak?' "Steven!" Pearl rushes over to me. "Steven stop!" She covers me back up.

"B-but Pearl... I have to water the plants!" Then I remember what happened. The cactus, the crying, the pink, the dream.

"I already did that for you. " she smiled. I remembered my stomach pains. I pulled the covers up, and my shirt. "S-Steven!" I gasped. The pink had spread to my stomach. "What's happening to me...."

Pearl looked at me sympathetically. She covered me back up. "Oh Steven... I'm so sor-" In the middle of Pearl talking, the warp pad activated and I turned my head. It was Garnet and Amethyst.

"Steven!" Amethyst yelled and rushed to me. "You're awake! A-Are you okay?" I nodded. Garnet walked to me after Amethyst. "Steven. I'm sorry I-" Garnet started. "N-No... I'm sorry. I can't control it. I can't control my emotions, I-I don't know what's happening." A tear fell down my cheek. "And now, I don't know what's gonna happen to me.... am I gonna die? Will I be like this forever? TELL ME GARNET! Ahh!" A pain shot through my body. "Steven! Please stay with us this time!" I heard Garnet yell. I curled up in a ball. "Cmon Steven stay awake!" My vision was blurred by tears and pain. I was about to give in, when I felt someone grab my hand. "You can do it!"

I strained to keep awake as the pain seared through me. A couple seconds later it stopped. "Ahh.." i cringed as my body relaxed again. Tears were still falling down my face. "Steven.." I felt someone wipe away my tears. I saw all three of the gems sitting there, tears were also streaming down their faces. "D-Dont cry..." I said and put a weak smile on my face.

Pearl and amethyst were balling, Garnet was crying, but I could tell that she wasn't trying to. Pearl hugged me tight. Amethyst and Garnet followed. "W-Where's my dad?" They pulled away. "He's coming." Garnet said, wiping away tears.

She cleared her throat and sat up straight. I could tell she was trying to act strong for me, Pearl, and Amethyst. "For now, we need to find out how to stop this." She said. "Have you tried your healing spit?" "N-no" I replied. she nodded. "This might work then."

Amethyst uncovered me so I could lick my palm, but I couldn't even raise my hand 5 inches off the bed. "It's getting worse..." Garnet whispered. She held her palm to my mouth and I licked it. She tried to put it on, but the moment it touched my skin it sent ripples of pain through my body. "Aghhhh!" It happened only for a few seconds.

Tears rolled down my face. "Steven! I'm sorry! I didn't know it would do this." I nodded weakly. "You rest Steven. I need to talk with Pearl and amethyst." Garnet got up and beckoned them to follow her. I closed my eyes and immediately fell asleep.
