Spreading Emotions (Au)

Garnet Pov

I walk down the stairs trembling, my form wanting to unfuse. 'No. I have to stay strong. For everyone.' When we get down there I start pacing. "We need to find a way to stop this!" I scream.

Pearl rushes over. "Garnet. You have to calm down. Steven needs to rest." Her voice was trembling a little and I could tell that tears were threatening to spill from her eyes. I nodded and continued pacing.

I tried seeing in the future, but I couldn't see anything. "Agh. It's so frustrating. I can't see anything." I sat down on the couch, thinking. Amethyst sat next to me and said "What about Rose's fountain?" I look at her. "It wouldn't work. We tried his healing spit. You saw what happened. We can't risk it."

I felt like crying, but I can't. I have to be strong. For everyone. Suddenly amethyst hugged me. She started quietly crying. Pearl hugged me as well. With not as silent tears. I hugged them both back. "It's okay guys."

Pearl looked at me. "You don't have to act strong right now Garnet." She went back to hugging me. She was right. I let my tears fall.

Suddenly we heard Greg's van pull up. I quickly wiped away my tears and regained my posture. Greg rushed in. "Where's Steven!?" I walked up to him. "He's sleeping. So be quiet." I led him up to Steven. His face went pale. "Oh Steven...."

I pulled up a chair so Greg could sit next to him. Steven looked worse than ever. His face was pale, he had bags under his eyes, I would think he was dead if I didn't see the weak rise and fall of his chest.

Tears fell down Greg's face as he held Stevens hand. Steven looked so peaceful sleeping, but tired. 'You'll be okay... I know you will.' I thought to myself. Suddenly I felt the urge to unfuse. I couldn't control it. "I uh, have to go to the bathroom." Pearl tried to stop me. "Garnet.." I pulled out of her grasp and rushed to the bathroom. As soon as I shut the door, I unfused.
