I'm not a writer but I love to read I think I always have. My first memory about reading is from the sixth grade I remember having to start changing classes and I always had a romance novel with me it didn't matter what class I was in I read my book. I had a friend I rode the school bus with and she always had a book she introduced me to VC Andrews and RL Stine's fear street series. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I wanted to say.

   When I found this app I was thrilled until I realized that the books I was reading weren't finished so after not being able to read books that were complete I have up on the app. If I'm not reading I spend the majority of my time on YouTube. Here I need to point out that I'm almost 40 years old and before I was unable to work I used to work 50 to 60 hrs a week I didn't have a smartphone just a basic Verizon flip phone it was really cheap and prepaid I didn't have much interaction with things on the internet. I knew what a kindle was but couldn't bring myself to buy one when I could get books free from the library. After coming out of a bad relationship and situation I moved in with my daughter and her father and I guess that my daughter felt bad for me so she gave me her kindle because she didn't need it. Anyways I found YouTube fanfictions and came to wattpadd again.

  None of that had to be said. I have a love of great books and great authors. At the end of a chapter or a chapter itself even on message boards I don't seem to be able to get away from two things. Filler chapter apologies and late update apologies.
There is absolutely no reason to apologize for a filler chapter it's not there just to take up space even though many of the authors here seem to feel that way. They serve a purpose as long as they fit into the story and the timeline I'm saying that as long as it's not a cute cuddly day at home for our main couple when the previous chapter has them separated because one was kidnapped or is missing or physically hurt and was in the hospital the previous chapter. It's not just a filler chapter when an author writes a soft fluffy chapter away from all the drama. As readers we need to see the sweet side of the relationship because then we will be able to see the love of the main couple and cheer them on to stay together and hopefully get a happy ending. So don't apologize for writing a CHAPTER.
Apologizing for late updates is something that no writer should do. Are you getting paid to update at a certain time?? I'm amazed when I find out the age of some of the great writers I've read. Do you have school and homework and friends maybe a job any type of life outside of writing books for people that will take the first excuse to complain. It would be different if you were compensated for the time,energy and stress that comes with writing a book but sadly here you aren't there are people like me that is extremely grateful for your hard work and talent that you choose to share with us. It's understandable you have a life that you need to live and things happen in that life daily that can change how much time and energy you have to whether you even feel like writing. I don't like to see a schedule from an author about what days and such they will update. I feel like that is unnecessary stress and should not happen yes there are people that need the boundaries that a schedule in their daily life will provide but by basically promising readers a chapter when you don't know what life will throw at you is not a good idea. I will always be grateful that an author post daily I've come to learn that many already have the chapters ready to do so. Yes I will worry about an author that hasn't posted as often as they did but I will not ever ask for a new update I would pm them to see if everything is ok. Apologizing for not updating is not right live your life and when you are ready then and only then should you write. I've found some really good books on here and than gotten to the last chapter to realize that author hasn't updated in months I've always left a nice comment to let them know I found it I read it and can see that it hasn't been updated in a while and that I will look forward to more if they plan to continue. I feel like sometimes maybe they just need to feel appreciated because around the same time a day or so later there is a new chapter it's probably a coincidence but I feel like I was there to let them know they were appreciated.
Anyways I love you all and I am very thankful to every writer here that shares their books with us.
