authors asking for attention

ok I'm in a mood right now and need to BITCH. These last few days a couple of authors have complained or whined about feeling underappreciated in their stories and threaten to take down these books because they're not getting enough comments or votes. I as a human being understand that these people want to feel validated, also I am getting to where I am comfortable leaving comments but not every chapter am I capable of having the brain power to think of a comment thats better than 'this was good'.
        okay now the reason that I feel the need to complain. These people put a message out asking for attention basically. I like reading their stories so much that I follow them because when I find an author I like I want to read more of what they write.Also if you threaten to remove a story that I'm reading and waiting to be updated at this point I will comment on your message to ask that you don't and say something about the book.At this point I feel that a reply should be given acknowledging that I have responded to your self doubt with a simple thank you.
  No I do not expect that in each book every comment I write should have a response, but if you want comments and complain about not getting them than yes I expect acknowledgement. I am more prone to comment if I feel that my comments have been read. Alot of authors have busy lives numerous commenters and messages so they don't reply, but some do reply and these are the people that I want to give more comments to.
Basically if you want feedback at the end of your chapter ask a question. just a simple question than readers like me are made aware that you want feedback, sometimes I'm so into a story that I forget voting and commenting are an option until I reach the last chapter written and want to know what happens.
