just me ranting

now for the rant

     I've already shared my view on writers holding their chapters hostage until they receive a certain amount of comments or votes. But I've gotta do it again. I found some great books and I read the first Dragons Bride well I read what was written anyways and I was so into the book that I didn't read the author notes and when I finished all the available chapters I proceeded to follow the author and add all the books written that caught my attention. I jumped straight into the next book that sounded like I would really enjoy it and I did I read straight through til the last chapter and realized that I should read that last authors note. I don't know if it was good that I did or bad. Because guess what the author set a goal of alot of votes before uploading the next chapter. I don't have any problems waiting for new chapters I mean I personally don't like having to but I also know that most of the new chapters are written and posted when a writer has the time. I would prefer having the whole book but since these books are free and I'm able to interact with my favorite writers I'm fine with the chapter by chapter concept. I like reading these books that are written for nothing but the joy of writing. I don't understand why a person needs the validation of a certain amount of comments or votes. In the case of this writers books while I enjoyed the two I've read and would absolutely love to find out how they end, the reader base will not be that big because sadly numerous trigger warnings have been issued starting with the description of said books. I don't think that many people are reading these books because they won't be able to get past these warnings. I even offered my opinion and stated as such because if you're writing for readers and not for yourself than you've already fucked up. And if you're writing for readers but the amount you have that are reading and waiting for new chapters aren't good enough then you've fucked up even more because I'm not jumping to read any of the other books and I have absolutely no need to tell any of the people that read my recommendations about this writer or their books because while I was reading I was also thinking about what I could say to make others want to read these books because firstly they have some heavy dark content and the writer is not that fluent in English or is just not that great at writing so since I tag the authors always I had really been trying to phrase that to be honest but not hurt feelings and then I got to the note saying they would update the next chapter after receiving so many votes. So my solution was to say what I thought and inform them while I was going to read the other books I wouldn't unless its completed because with their content it will be a while before receiving that many votes and since they aren't well known I never would have found the books without reading the one book that had the recommended book that wattpad does. I won't recommend the book to others because it will be an extremely long process to get new chapters and by then I've lost interest as I've been doing lately. There's only a couple that I keep up with now sadly
