----"Morning!"
A lady on a pale pink summer dress broke in. She knew the bachelor's pad key code and it's customary to arrive unnoticed. Part of their friendship package, at least.
She saw her friend sitting comfortably across the dining table, with a cellphone on his right hand and a cup of coffe on the left one. Too much work happening in there. Normally she would hit him with something if he doesn't respond to her greetings but not today. Her groceries would've hurt him badly if she throws them at him. He smiled at her though, so it's fine.
"You sure are enjoying your break, handsome."
RJ took the brown bag from her. "Hundred percent," he giddily replied and kissed her on the cheek.
"So what's for the weekend?" Zoe has to ask him because the last time she visited, RJ and her ended up in his condo unit x-boxing.
"Hmm.. only if you're available. I want to go to the beach." He unpacked his friend's bag of goods and made her a glass of fresh juice.
"And if I'm not available?" Zoe was just testing him. Of course she is available! She wouldn't fly from Manila to Cebu if she isn't free. It has been the routine for quite some time.
"Bar?"
"Oh my God. No. Let's go to the beach." Zoe drank on her glass. "This is such a delight, not too sweet. You put in honey on my orange juice?"
"Yup. Tell me why we can't go to the bar. Di mo ba nagustuhan sa Icon?" He sat beside her.
"You know RJ, as your friend, I should help you with your vocation. Let's say you'll hang out with your friends at the bar, ano na naman ang mangyayari? The last time you were with them, muntik ka pang mapahamak sa formator mo."
"Hindi ko naman kasi bakasyon when it happened tsaka hindi natin sila isasama. Mga loko loko kasi yun tsaka parang crush ka."
She'd rather drop the topic. "Speaking of bakasyon, bakit parang wala ka ng balak bumalik ng seminary?"
"I'm on regency."
"Regency?"
(A/N Regency refers to the time when the seminarian leaves the seminary so that he could decide very well if he is willing to be a priest or not. This has an indefinite time because it depends on the seminarian if he will be back soon or not at all.)
"Parang leave from work to work on something, in your term."
"Ah.. pwede pala yun?"
"Yes."
"Eh kung ganun naman pala, bakit di ka nalang bumalik sa atin? I'm sure miss ka na nila Tita."
"I booked a flight. Sasabay ako sayo pag-uwi. Nakokonsensya na rin ako na palaging ikaw ang pumupunta sa akin although sa tingin ko naman naeenjoy mo etong distractions."
