"Huwag mo kong iwan dito, Zoe." RJ clings to me like a 5 year old kid. He was discreet though. His pleading eyes melt me somehow kaya I excused ourselves from our friends.

It's evening and the alumni homecoming is on its last part of the programme pero masaydo pang bata ang gabi.

"Something important really came up. You know naman that work is work."

"No questions with that, okay? Can I just go with you?"

"No. Ngayon ka lang nakasama ng friends mo eh."

"I was with them the whole day."

This guy is impossible. I glanced at my watch. I think makakabalik pa naman ako dito after ng meeting. "How about I go back here?"

"You will?"

"Of course. Di naman siguro magdamagan ang emergency meeting namin."

Natahimik siya. I hope he quit being stubborn this time kasi gusto ko lang talaga na mag-enjoy siya at ang friends nya. He was out the loop for quite some time.

His shoulders dropped. "Basta bumalik ka."

"Oo nga. Sige na, pumasok ka na ulit doon. Mag-enjoy ka. Mahal yung talent fee ng paborito mong band ha? Isipin mo nalang that I've hired them because of you."

"Alright." He kissed my cheek. "Bye."

"Shoo."

"Our rival has signed up the famous international model for Christ's sake! Anong nangyari?!"

"We were also shocked. Earlier today, our team got the nod from her manager kaya--"

"A nod?! We don't need a nod! Bakit hindi nyo inayos agad ang kontrata?!"

Ugh. I hate this atmosphere.

"Miss Velasquez! Are you even listening?"

Patay na. "I am, Mr. Chairman."

"So? Do you have anything for us?"

"We look for another famous personality. We don't need to cry over spilled milk."

Napatahimik ang big boss namin.

"I affirm the fact that Ms. Lanister could've been gold for us but as per checking with her social media platforms, her number of followers may feed our company's fame but we're already famous... leading to my next question, Is she going to sell more or just enough? We need to translate this fame into money." I mirrored my mini mac air to the screen. I took their silence as a signal to continue my point. "Maraming sikat pero their followers don't buy products they endorse. Their grasp of influence is shallow. But, check this out," I clicked a celebrity profile who's actually in my proposal for my year-end project.. pero dala ng pangangailan, i-aadvance ko na ang presentation. I'll just think of someone else for my winter collections. I hate to give her up pero company parin naman namin ang makikinabang.

It was a smooth presentation and the chairman agreed to begin negotiating with the agency of the celebrity-influencer I suggested.

"Please hand them the rest of the documents they need," I requested my secretary and left the company right away.
