4 - Unmasked

ZOE's POV

I love the city vibe here but the traffic is really annoying. Mabuti nalang maaga kaming pumunta dito sa airport. I have time for my favorite Taiwan milk tea here. RJ is outside and is talking to someone on the phone. This store is glass-walled that's why I can see him clearly. He seemed worried. I ordered a beverage for him when I noticed he's done.

"RJ, is there something wrong?"

"Kailangan kong pumunta ng GenSan."

"Ngayon na? Bakit?"

Your milk tea, Sir.

"Thank you," he replied to the staff.

"Naalala mo ba yung naikwento kong lola na unang kumopkop sa akin?"

"Yung gumagawa ng fish nets? Of course I remember."

"Inatake kasi sa puso. Nasa ospital ngayon."

"Oh my God... RJ, puntahan mo si lola. Let's book your ticket."

"Can you go with me?"

I am taken aback. I checked my schedule. Maybe I could really use the fact that I have an assistant. "Hindi ba tayo aabutin ng isang taon doon?" I asked him.

"Six months?"

"What?!" No. No. I can't do that.

"Loko lang. Okay na siguro ang a day or two."

What a relief.
"Okay I'll go."

"Talaga?! Thank you! I'll book our tickets. Mabilis lang to."

"Okay. I'll call mom and my secretary."

"Include Gael."

"I tell you, he won't mind." He's not calling me nor answer my call so why bother to do it this time?

"That's insane."
He became busy on his phone already.

I called my secretary and I'm relieved that she was able to finish her task that goes along my presentation for the board next week. She shot an appointment with a prospective client I'm eyeing for the past months. Good job. I also don't have much schedule to clear this week.

"Mom?"

"Yes baby? Are you at the airport?"

"Yes mom and RJ's with me."

"Wow! So uuwi sya. That's great news! His mom always talks about him. She misses him so much."

"Kaso mom, something came up and he needs to fly to General Santos today. He wants me to go with him."

"Is it an emergency?"

"Opo."

"Alright. Samahan mo and you two come back home agad okay? Dumiretso kayo dito sa bahay. I will cook for him."
