When I woke up again, it was due to nature's call. Without those tubes and with cognitive function of my body, my brain registered that I needed to dispel all that water. Vince was still beside me on the bed, and he was fast asleep. It was cute. I didn't want to wake him, and the bathroom was just across the room, so I slowly inched away from him and got off the bed.

I had to hold onto the bed for a few moments, my legs resembling jelly in their feeling. I looked across the room at my destination and suddenly, it felt like I had to cross the Sahara. Great. I took one step and felt the soreness in my thigh shoot up several levels. I let out a small yelp.

"What are you doing?" Vince rushed to me and was holding my arms in seconds.
"I need the bathroom,"
"Why didn't you wake me?" He asked, carrying me bridal style into the small cubicle bathroom.

He placed me on the toilet seat and waited. It felt weird peeing in front of him though. It's not like I hadn't done it before, but he was usually in the shower or brushing his teeth, not staring at me. He realized my discomfort and rolled his eyes at me and turned around.

"Better?"
"No, you'll still hear it, get out,"

He shook his head, laughing and stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him. I was able to pee in peace. After I finished up in the bathroom, I tested my legs again happy to see that they were working better. I readjusted my hospital gown and walked out of the room.

Vince was waiting for me and I was surprised and happy he didn't come to carry me back to the bed. I sat down on the edge but couldn't master the strength to swing my legs over. I looked over to him.

"Help,"

He smiled and came over, adjusting me so I was back under the sheets.

"I still heard," he said and I laughed. "I've missed that sound," he kissed my forehead.
"What time is it?"
He glanced at his watch, "Ten in the morning,"
"Of what day?"
"Tuesday,"
"It's been a week?"
He nodded, "Yeah, your friends are outside, can I send them in?"
I nodded, "You're coming back, right?"
"I'm going home to shower and change, I'll be back in an hour,"
"Promise?"
He smiled, "Nothing could keep me away, Kristina," he kissed me briefly and I watched him leave.

A minute later, Talia, Maddie and Liz came in.

"Krissy," Talia rushed up to me.
"No hugs, I have bruised everything," I said as they surrounded me.
"You're okay," Maddie whispered. "I was so scared, how can I not hug you?"
"We brought breakfast," Liz said pulling out stuff from her bag.

I had a feast placed before me in a matter of seconds. Granola, yoghurt, cocktail sandwiches, juice, a banana, oatmeal and a milk box.

"We spoke to your doctor and she said you have to eat some of all of this," Talia said.
"No, she didn't," I laughed but reached for the granola.
"How are you feeling?" Maddie asked.
"Well my thigh hurts, and my chest and head, and aside from these fuzzy memories, I'm really okay," I answered.
"You really don't remember?" Liz asked.
"Not really. I remember him, the professor, I remember what happened when he was in the house," I relayed those events to them. "Then I remember waking up in the cabin, between waking up then and waking up here, things are a bit jumbled,"
"That could be a blessing in disguise," Talia said.
"I got home, and found that broken glass, and the blood, the door was wide open. I called for you, then I called you, and your phone rang from upstairs," Maddie said as I ate. "I called Vince after and he told me he'd brought you home about two hours earlier. And so I called the police,"
"You should have seen Vince though. When he realized you were missing, he went crazy. He beat up Jonah. I mean, we still don't know why he thought Jonah would have had something to do with it, I think he was just confused but they got into a fight at their boarding house and things did not go well for Jonah. Vince broke his nose," Liz said.
Talia nodded, "And then your mum arrived the next day, and she was not so happy. The dean had to tell her about the incident with Professor-"
"Don't, don't say his name," I interrupted and she nodded.
"The police asked if anyone would want to harm you, so that's what brought that story out. Your mum was pretty mad we hadn't informed her. And then your dad showed up too, and I was pretty surprised. I'd never met your dad. He showed up at the house, and he and your mum really got into it," Talia said.
Liz laughed, "In hindsight, and now that you're okay, it was kind of funny,"
I laughed too, "I bet,"
"The next day though, Vince looked like hell," Maddie said. "He was angry and irritable, and the only person who could really talk to him was Matt. And your mum. And then later that day, we were all at the boarding house, your parents, some of the soccer team, a few of your friends, when Matt came into the living room saying Vince knew where you were. That the professor had sent a text, a picture, and he'd gone off to get you. Without the police,"
"Luckily, Matt had called the police, and we tracked Vince's phone and followed him. By the time we got there, Vince had found you, was about to take you to the hospital and everything," Talia said.
"And the professor?" I asked.
They all looked at each other, "The police took him," Liz answered. "You don't have to worry about him ever again,"
I nodded, "I'm just glad this nightmare is over,"
"Aren't we all?" Talia laughed rather nervously.
I looked at her, "What's wrong?"
She shook head head, "Nothing,"
