The drive to Georgia was pretty long, Tayler had been driving through the entire day and it was night time. I was asleep in the passenger seat, after belting tunes out to the top of my lungs, i was pretty beat. I felt the car come to a stop but didn't move to wake up until Tayler's hand which was resting on my thigh squeezed it
"Hey sleepy head, unfortunately humans have to eat so get up" He said in a soft voice
"butiwassleeepingggggg" i whined
"i knowwwww" he copied making me flip him off "that's not very nice!"
"i don't give a fuck dad" i grumbled making my way out the car
Tayler followed me out but noticed i was shivering so he threw his hoodie at me
"hey!" i yelled
"don't want you catching colds, so put that on" he said walking into In and Out before i could answer
I slipped the hoodie on before making my way to the counter where Tayler was ordering already.
"large or small fry?" he asked
"small" i said confidently
"and a large fry" he said
"hey!" i said
"what? i know you plan on eating mine as well" he said as a matter of fact
I went to answer but closed my mouth, knowing very well i would. Once our food was done Tayler came and sat next to me at the booth as we casually spoke
"So, you wanna tell me why you ran away after your argument with Dixie?" he asked making me choke on my large coke
"what argument" i said looking away
"the argument the guys and i heard from the living room" he said looking at me
"yall probably heard wrong" i shrugged
"oh then why did Dix come back all mad and shit?" he asked
"ion know" i mumbled
Tayler exhaled in defeat
"The girls are tryna make me admit to something that i don't feel okay" i said
"and what's that?" he asked
"Tay-
"I'll leave you here" he threatened
"they think i like you" i said
A silence passed over us, i looked at Tayler, he had an expression i couldn't quite read
"well do you?" he asked
"Tayler, you're an amazing guy yes, but-
"you don't like me and that's completely understandable" he finished
"no, what, absolutely not, It's just that-
"look, you don't have to explain anything" he said taking is wallet out "we better get going if we wanna get there by sunrise"
The rest of the way was complete silence, other than the radio that played. I felt guilty for not stopping Tayler and telling him that i felt as though we were meant to be, i didn't wanna rush into it, this was my first real crush.
I watched as the sign "Georgia" came into the light before zooming away and closed my eyes, maybe if i counted enough sheep, i'd actually be able to get over this guilt i was feeling
