TWO DAYS LATER
"I wish you had of told me to come over to help you find some clothes. I would've helped you," Kirra said as she dragged me out to her car.
"Trust me, I don't need help," I told her.
She shrugged. "Everyone needs help from a vampire before the world ends."
"Right then," I said awkwardly.
She shook her head. "Sorry about that. I used to see the future in my dreams as a human and I saw some pretty horrible stuff. It probably won't happen for a few millennia though."
"I can remove your memories if you wish me to," I offered as we both climbed into her car.
"Nah, I'm fine. I've been stuck with this for a while so it would be strange to not have the memories."
I nodded and looked out the window calmly, not caring about the fact that Kirra was going nearly 200 kilometres an hour on a road that said 80. It did get us to the mall faster though.
We stepped out and walked to the first clothes shop we could find as we stepped in.
Entering one shop, Kirra led me to the dresses and flicked through all the colours and styles available.
"Nothing here. To the next shop," she said and dragged me out again.
I yanked my arm out of hers and we walked normally.
We entered the next shop and found the dresses easily enough. Kirra went through them and pulled out a purple dress that could have also been worn during a hot average day. The dress had straps and went to my mid thigh and made of lace.
"This is for you. Definitely," Kirra said while holding it against me.
"Then we can get it?" I wondered.
She nodded at me and we strolled to the register to pay.
Stepping outside and finally finishing, we went to the car again.
"So, what did you want to do now?" Kirra asked me.
I shrugged. "Go do something. I don't care."
"We'll go to your hotel room and get you ready then," Kirra told me and we drove off again.
At the speed she drove at, we arrived at the hotel within minutes. I found it amusing that I was an Immortal who was going to be going on a date with a vampire.
Unlocking the hotel door to my room, we both went inside and she went straight to work. And I felt like a pathetic human girl being fussed over by her pathetic friend. It felt pathetic and degrading.
"Ok, honestly, I'm fine. I don't need help," I told her sternly.
Kirra blinked but nodded. "I was half wondering when you were going to stop me."
I gritted my teeth and frowned at the vampire.
"I didn't want to hurt your little vampire feelings," I huffed.
The corner of her lips lifted up. "You really don't like being called a damsel in distress or being weaker than others, do you?"
I didn't dignify that with an answer. I wasn't some stupid human that didn't know what traits they had. I knew everything about me when I was born.
"Well, I'm gonna leave now. I'm getting hungry and as much as you look tempting to eat, I think it would be a bad idea. Oh, and have fun with Jay. You hurt him and you'll burn in Hell," Kirra said, stretching her arms above her head and walking out.
