"Zayn darling." She smirked, putting her hands on my cheeks and I flinched. I thought to myself that I need the money if I want Caroline back.
"What's the matter?" She shrugged, taking another gulp of the milk I brought her.
"Nothing Cat." I said. "You open the box?"
"Oh yes, I clawed through it. It was in there indeed."
"Is the box completely destroyed?" I said concerned, I was planning on bringing it back even if empty, it was just so beautiful.
"It must be." She said, and I felt the guilt in my chest. "Wherever it is."
"What do you mean wherever it is?" I said, angry now.
"I tossed it in the gutter when I got what I needed out. Cool down Zayn, she won't notice it's gone. I hear the girl is a little nuts after the crash."
"Is she alright?"
"How should I know? I only hear what the streets tell me. And why do you care?"
"I don't." I said and turned away from her, thoughts only on my guilt that Caroline's favorite possession from her dead parents was gone.
