Chapter 6: Jealousy at its Finest

(Kingdom of Min)

When Ling and Simon together with the batallion arrived at the headquarters, Ling and Simon saw Frank sitting outside looking at the dessert while drinking liquor. He seems to be looking at nowhere and has in his deep thoughts.

Simon said to Ling just not to approach him. Ling then agrees with him. It was afternoon when the sun is about to set. Ling then ask Simon.

"Is he really like that?" Ling wondered why.
"He likes that when he gets disappointed, but only for a while. But this time, he seems to be disappointed at a higher level." Simon confessed.
"Is that because I saved him?" Ling still wondered why.
"No Ling, I guess he gets jealous of you or at us." Simon honestly said. "Only now I see he reacted that way. Before, when he played with the girls and when he gets rejected by one, he will just annoy that girl and laugh a lot. But this time, he is different."
"Oh I see. You're right. But don't avoid me because of him. He must accept that." Ling said.
"You don't get it Ling. He gets jealous everytime he sees both of us. I guess he likes you that much that he desperately want to be with you but you rejected him." Simon conveyed with his honest opinion.
"Sorry, let me ask you, do you like me too?" Ling gets curious to know.
"What a kind of question about that Ling? Please don't let me answer to you right now." Simon insisted.
"I don't get it Simon. I guess guys really hesitant or afraid or shy to express their feelings when they really do or mean it." Ling gets even more confused.
Simon then asked her "Do you like Frank, Ling?"
Ling responded "Honestly, when I first saw him, I get attracted to his looks, but I get disappointed when he attacks me and my community. So disappointed that I want to hate him. If only not because of my family and my community, I am not here fighting."
Simon laughs at her and said "You really do Ling! You like him!"
"Don't let him notice about it Simon! Please, am begging you." Ling pleaded, acted like a child.
"Ok Ling. I will promise." Simon said, as Frank approach towards their direction and shake his head, while still holding liquor.

Frank then approach Simon.

"Simon, I assign you to lead the third mission. Ling, join with him. I need to take a break when we get towards the northeast. Don't react Ling, that's my order. Understood?!"

Ling wanted to reacted, but just nod at him to end the conversation.

Then Frank walks away, sleeping.

Ling and Simon make a plan for their third mission. This time, Ling finds it harder to win the battle as there are massive soldiers and weapons, more than their first and second mission, and that the king and queen are warriors and with skills in martial arts. She is not that confident that Simon will be able to do it as he is not skillful as Frank do. But one thing she noticed about Simon is he has several options on how to attack the enemies.

After making plans, they take their supper. This time, Frank falls asleep of drunkenness. Then they rest and sleep.

The next day, they travelled towards the northeast, the Kingdom of Min.

When they arrived, they look for their temporary headquarters and do the setup. It was nighttime when they decided to attack, that most of the people are sleeping. At this time, Frank gets out of nowhere when they arrived at the northeast.

The kingdom is filled with tall walls. Simon and Ling climbs up quietly together with the batallion then they successfully gets inside. When the batallion secretly kills each soldier posted, they went towards the room of king and queen. When they entered the bedroom, no one is there. When they turn back, both the king from outside the room and queen hiding inside the room attacks both of them. The queen attacks Ling while the king attacks Simon.

Ling realizes that the queen is more skillful than the king and was worried with Simon if he can fight with the king who is too quick.

The queen shows her impressive stunts towards Ling, which Ling finds herself hard to attack. Ling gets frequently lie down on the floor but have manages to stand still and fight with the queen with her sword.

Simon at this time, shows his titan stunts, holding with him the spears. Simon fights like an ancient warrior, has a strength in making a fist and removes the king's weapon until he throws the king's forehead with his hard fist. Then the king lies down and Simon thrust the king with a knife.

Ling this time leans at the wall while defeating the queen, both of their swords get crossed, the queen is about to kill her with a sword when Ling blurry saw Frank approached them, then she saw the queen suddenly falls down. Then she blurry saw Simon at the back of the queen, holding the knife with blood. Then she gets fainted, unconscious.

Frank still was not able to save Ling. Frank gets disappointed of not saving her, in daze, while Simon gets worried about Ling and hurriedly carried her. Simon then said to Frank

"Bro, set aside for awhile whatever emotions that you have right now. Ling needs you to heal her. She gets exhausted all throughout the fight."  Simon went out still carried Ling.

Frank cannot forgive himself, leaving himself still in daze, cannot believe after all he could not be able to save her and feeling sorry for himself.

Frank follows them as they hurriedly go back to the headquarters. Simon was able to check her pulse before they depart, thankfully it is beating, and have loosen her black fitted outfit to breathe. Ling returns back to her consciousness but is still too weak to carry herself.

When they arrived, Simon carries her towards her bed, while Frank still waited outside, gets even more worried. Simon then approach Frank and said.

"Frank, I guess she needs you more. If you think she likes me, no, you're wrong Bro. She just treated me like a friend because she cannot talk to you. She is a kind woman and you are fortunate to have her heart. It's your time to take care of her this time Bro, don't waste it for nothing." Simon then tapped his shoulder.

Frank nods at him silently and he entered towards Ling's room. He touched Ling's forehead and he found out that Ling is feverish while asleep. He placed wet face towel towards Ling's forehead to ease the fever. Ling gets chilled. Frank holds her body so tightly to make her feel warm. Frank gets emotional as he said to Ling

"Sorry I was not able to save you. Sorry for disrespecting you and making you feel upset. I cannot forgive myself for what I have done to you. Am really sorry. I regret doing this to you especially now that I love you, I love you that I want to spend my life with you, I love you that I want to desperately be with you and to care for you. But am so hopeless that you cannot love me anymore because of what I have done towards you. Please forgive me. I am going to be fine and move on if you will just forgive me. Am sorry. Am sorry." Frank then cried.

Frank suddenly falls asleep lying at the body of Ling, to her stomach while still wrapping her body by his arms. It was already morning when Ling wakes up seeing herself wrapped by Frank's arms. She's still weak and cannot react towards him.

She stares Frank while on still sleeping. She told herself if only he could only be kind towards her, she will really pleased to let him love her. She recalled the words he said earlier, while she's on chills. She was still able to hear it a bit. "I love you ...." is the word she heard from him, confessing something towards her that she cannot clearly hear, but she can feel Frank is sincere telling her. "One more patience," she told herself for her to finally give in towards him. She likes Frank at the start but there is something holding her back to show it to him, especially that Frank is a kind of guy who takes advances towards girls and is too ecstatic. She cannot bear but only to control herself and her emotion of finally loving him. "Am sorry Frank, I cannot love you this time, though deep in my heart, I want to love you," she told herself still staring on Frank's face which she finds cute.

Frank then wakes up.

"Am sorry Ling, I slept here with you. Am so sorry." Frank apologetically said.

"It's alright Frank. Thank you for making me feel at ease from my chills last night." Ling said.

"Have you heard what I am saying last night?" Frank asked.

Denially, Ling responded "Have you tell me anything?"

"Frank then find relief "Am, it's nothing Ling. You just have to rest for now Ling while we will do the plan for next combat."

Ling then nodded.
