Ulterior motives.
We all have them.
Yes, they can be considered lies - deceptive lies, which is technically sinning in God's rule book. Not unless it's bettering something for the future, which Grayson is trying to accomplish with Y/N. It's not just about him trying to maintain his soul; he genuinely believes she is a sweet, innocent woman much deserving than a life condemned to a conniving demon who will ultimately murder her in the end. A part of him wants to think that Ethan could possibly change, and that he'd be able to repent for all of his sins - unfortunately, it is not. He will never be allowed to step foot into Heaven even if he did change, which he's too captured by Lucifer to do so anyway. No, it's too late for him brother, he's far long gone. He doesn't have a chance in becoming an angel.
Except Y/N. She has so much potential that Grayson cannot bear to see get wasted.
Ethan is mindlessly watching television when Grayson walked into the room. He doesn't spare a glance towards his twin, still irked and suspicious by his intentions. Rightfully so, as he's always been smart in that way. Never letting his guard down. It's why he hasn't been caught all those years of capturing innocent victims and cruelly murdering them in this very house.
Grayson cleared his throat to get his attention, "Ethan, can we speak?"
"Not now, brother," Ethan grunted. "I'm still processing the thoughts of a possible betrayal from my own twin brother."
"You know I'd never betray you, E," Grayson sighed, leaning up against the doorframe. "Come on, Ethan. I want to apologize for lying to you in the first place, but to reiterate, I am on your side. If I was not, don't you think I would have tried to stop you from killing Billy? That man was a sicko, what you did was for the best."
"You know, brother, back in the day the bible stated that twins were born of the Devil," the older twin began, shifting his body off of the couch. "We were rejected by God's creatures since day one, where all we had was each other. We were not made to live a life of Godliness, so don't you think you can try to change me with whatever you and Him are planning."
"We're not planning anything, Ethan!" he groaned, wondering when the hell the Lord was going to do his thing. "We're family. I love you. I'd never do anything to hurt you, or Y/N. You have my word."
"Yeah, well, I won't believe that until you prove it-"
Crash!
"What the hell was that?"
Grayson sucked in a deep breath. It's go time.

Y/N was refreshing herself with a much needed shower when she heard the sound of glass breaking in the room before her. Her stomach plummeted; surely this noise had to be the cause from either one of the twins. There cannot be a second night in a row where her life is in danger, right? Besides, Ethan killed Billy, so it obviously couldn't be him.
She carefully stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel firmly around her naked body before stepping out of the bathroom. She creeped up to the bedroom down the hall where she heard the noise from, prepared to yell at Ethan for probably breaking something, until she rounds the corner and witnesses the sight of a large man wearing a black ski mask, along with a duffel bag and a baseball bat. She watched as he stepped into the room, grabbing random items off of shelves and placing them into his back.
Holy shit, it's a burglar!
The police. Y/N had to call the police. She took a step back and the floor creaked underneath her weight, prompting the masked robber to look up and growl. Instantly she turned and goes to run, and is quickly followed by the intruder who shouted after her, "Hey! Get the fuck back here!"
