ESCAPE

Tears burned against the back of Y/N's eyes, as she bangs her fists against the locked door. Who the hell were those two assholes to decide her fate and her future? All she wanted was to be with Ethan, he's what truly made her happy.

She slumped back in her bed, curling herself into a ball under the sheets as she sobs silently to herself. Being trapped here was torturous, especially knowing there was no chance of her being free again until she agrees to never get involved with the demon. Obviously something she could never do, since her body naturally aches when they're away from each other. She ponders what he's doing now, if he misses her or if he's angry upon speculation that she willingly left. Just the thought of that made her cry harder, and it didn't help when she heard his wonderful voice in her head.

Don't cry angel, I'm going to get you out of here and we will be together again.

It sounded so real, paining her dull heart even more as she clenched her fingers around the blanket. It was as though he was speaking to her directly in her ear, but when she looked up there was no one there. It was obviously her personal coping method given the separation, the illusion of his presence a brutal side effect.

No, angel, I'm actually talking to you. We're communicating telepathetically.

Y/N sat up even more, wiping away at her tear-stained cheeks as she looks frantically around the room. She heard that loud and clear this time, and it certainly couldn't have been her imagination. "E-Ethan?"

Yes, baby, I'm here. I'm going to get you out. You're just going to have to listen to me.

Fuck it if she's going crazy. It's much better than moping around in despair. She climbed off the bed and rose to her feet, feeling like it was something she should do without being given instruction. "O-Okay."

I know you're in a terribly small room. The floor is hardwood, but if you knock on the space directly in the middle by the bed, it'll sound hallow. There's a tiny golden latch that if you lift, reveals a dark hole. I'm going to need you to go down it, angel, it's your only chance at escaping.

She wonders how he possibly could be doing this right now; she knows that he cannot be physically present in the room due to the laws of nature, but is this some sort of power he's recently developed? Or has he always been in her head like this and she just never noticed? Y/N shook her head at herself and moved towards the middle of the floor, bending down to knock at its wooden surface. Sure enough, there was a hallow sound that followed, opposed to the regular taps anywhere else. Her eyes roamed about and she noticed a small golden latch on the side, gliding her fingers underneath before pulling open the square door that led into darkness.

Good girl. Now climb down.

Y/N sucked in a deep breath and slowly eased herself into the hole, thankful there was a steel ladder attached to the gravelly wall that led deep down to where she was going. She made sure to close the lid of the floor to put off suspicion of her peculiar disappearance to Grayson and David, and carefully proceeded all the way down until her feet touched the dirt floor. The narrow path she had climbed down suddenly opened to a tunnel going left, a little wider but still not much room - and just as dark.

Now just go straight, angel, and you'll be free. You'll appear in the middle of the woods, but if you take a five minute walk, you'll find a river bank. Wait for me there while I handle all this.

"Handle what?" she questioned nervously.

The motherfuckers who stole you from me.

Is he actually going to hurt his own twin brother?
