CHAPTER 8

Mingi woke up by the loud ringing of his alarm. He reached over to his bedside table to turn it off before sitting up.
He remembered that Yunho was next to him, and look to the other side of the bed.
He couldn't quite tell if he was awake or not because it was dark in the room, but he assumed he was.

"Good morning Yunho!"

Yunho just replied with a simple chirp.
Mingi got up to open the curtains to his windows and let the dim light of the sun shine through.
He walked back over to his bed, and picked up Yunho and gently set him on his bedside table to make his bed.
Afterwards, he took Yunho out to the kitchen to feed him some bird food and water.
While he was doing that, Mingi did his own things in the bathroom. He took a quick shower and did his daily routine.

Mingi's outfit was definitely not something you'd want wear in the summer, but he had no other choice since he has to look formal everyday.
(Okay, but Mingi in long coats 🥵)

"Okay Yunho! You good to go?" Mingi said when he walked back into the kitchen.

Yunho gave a chirp, as Mingi proceeded to hold him in one hand, while he grabbed his keys and exited his home, making sure he locked it nicely.
Mingi walked to his car, unlocked it, and got in. He gently placed Yunho on the passenger seat and started his car.

He quickly stopped by Starbucks to grab a cup of coffee and a small meal, then he proceeded to make his way to work.

"Woah! Why do you have a bird with you?" a man with purple hair said.

"Well, why can't I, Wooyoung." Mingi questioned.

"I mean i guess you can...? It's super cute. But what happened to it?"

"He got ran over by a dog, and got attacked by my cat. Twice."

"Gerald? Really? He would do that? Man i cant believe that." Wooyoung shook his head, "Can i hold him/her?"

"Sure, but be careful. His name is Yunho."

The shorter nodded as Mingi handed him over.

"Does he bite?"

"No! Are you crazy?" Mingi laughed.

Wooyoung laughed as well and inspected Yunho, "Hes so cute. Does he know any tricks?"

"Um no? But he'll understand you."

"Oh my god, REALLY?? That's so cool! Hey buddy, chirp!"

Lord this kid is even weirder than Mingi.. Yunho thought and chirped.

"WOOAAHHH. That's so cool! How does it understand meeeeee!? SAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!" Wooyoung screamed.

"WHHAAAATTT?!!!??" San screamed back.

"COME LOOK AT MINGI'S NEW PET! HE'S SO COOL! AND SMART TOO!"

Soon enough, everyone in the company began crowding around Yunho. Wooyoung made him do all sorts of stuff.
Yunho got tired of it being so crowded. It was so hot from all the body heat.
Mingi didn't really do anything to stop from the attention. What could he even do anyways? He was basically being pushed out of the crowd.
Yunho has enough of it, and eventually gently bit Wooyoung's hand.

"GASP. He just bit me!"

Everyone gasped, kind of in a jokingly way.

"Alright alright! That's enough!" Mingi yelled, "Can I have my bird back?"

Everyone began to scatter out and continued to do what they were doing before.

"Fine fine, just tell him not to bite me!" Wooyoung huffed and gave Yunho back.

"Well maybe you shouldn't have stressed him out." Mingi stuck his tongue out.

Wooyoung stuck his tongue out back and left.

"You good my guy?" Mingi pet Yunho.

Yunho snuggled in the palm of Mingi's hand in response.

"Woop, this is gonna be a long day."
