CHAPTER 19

"Hey, Mingi?"

"Yes Yunho?"

"Am I a burden?" Yunho asked.

They were still in the hugging position. Mingi was shocked by the question and released himself from the hug to look at Yunho.

"Why do you ask that?"

"Well..."

"Well what?"

"I just keep causing you trouble, and there almost never seems to be a stop. I don't even do anything for you! I just let you do all the work. I don't clean the house, make food for you, buy you anything, pay bills, and basically just everything you know? I just sit around all day and cause you trouble. I feel like you hate me at times."

"I could never hate you! And you're not a burden at all. You're so important in my life. I don't feel lonely anymore. This might sound cheesy, but you fill the emptiness in my heart. You know how everyone seems to love me?" Mingi asked and Yunho nodded.
"Sure they do, but I just feel like they don't love me because of who I am. It's all because of my looks and how 'amazing' I seem to appear. But you're different. You actually know who I am as a person-"

"No i don't.."

"Oh zip it, of course you do. You know me more than anyone else does. Let me tell you the truth. When I was little, nobody liked me. It was always my cold expression that scared everyone off. Even my parents hated me. They never payed any attention to me. I was always alone and never knew how it felt to be loved and taken care of. I was very independent because I needed to be. I didn't have any friends or anybody to rely on. Even when I needed help the most, nobody was there for me. It was really hard growing up, but I was lucky that my parents kept me sheltered enough until I could live on my own.
And you know Yunho, you're the most important person in my life. Someone who brought true happiness to me. And for that, I feel like I need to cherish you as much as I can, because I don't know if you're going to leave me or not. I cant take these moments with you for granted. You're the best thing that's ever happened in my life. Please understand that you're not a burden at all to me."

Yunho was completely speechless and didn't know what to say, so he kinda panicked.

"I- Uh. Well- I-"

"Yunho, will you be my boyfriend?"

Yunho felt like he was going to faint right then and there. Things escalated so quickly that he couldn't think. He didn't expect all of this to happen in such a short amount of time.

Based on Yunho's blank expression, Mingi felt the urge to speak again.

"I'm sorry Yunho, just forget about what I said. Pretend this never happened. L-Lets go inside, I don't want you getting a cold." Mingi gently pushed Yunho off his lap and gathered everything.

He went inside to settle things down on the ground before going back outside to put out the fire.
Yunho was standing there, still speechless.

"Yunho, lets go."

Yunho snapped out of it and went back inside the house.
