CHAPTER 24

Even after yesterday, Mingi had been acting weird. Yunho didn't fully know why, but he assumes it had to do with his dad. It could also be because of Yunho's unintentional rejection.
Until the right time comes, he'll ask what's wrong. He had been awfully silent and distant. He was always spacing out, even while he was making dinner. He completely burnt everything and made the whole house smell awful. Yunho was getting worried, but he felt like it wasn't the time to ask anything. Maybe, just maybe if Yunho could cheer him up somehow. He had quite a few ideas, but some of them were just straight up.. sexual. His final decision was to buy a cake for him and get a silver ring with 'Yunho' engraved on it. He thought his plan might've gone too far, but he wants to do anything to cheer him up. Although they're obviously not dating, he was going to have someone engrave his name into a ring. Of course, he doesn't have any money so he'll have to take some from Mingi.
He'll have to go with his plan in the evening though.

The day after at 6:00 PM

"Mingi?" Yunho called out but didn't receive on answer even though he was standing right next to him
"Mingi?"

"Oh, hi Yunho. What's up?"

"Can I borrow some money...?"

"Of course. What for?"

"Uhhhh. It's embarrassing, but i just need to buy something."

"Can i come with you?"

"Oh no no no! You ca- I mean, i really don't want to bother you. Plus, i'm not going to tell you. You'll just have to wait and see."

"Okay then.. How much do you need?"

"Errr.. I don't know how much i need. I think it's quite expensive though."

"Is $5k fine?"

"OH NO NO NO, NOT THAT MUCH!"

Why is he lowkey acting like $5,000 is pocket change!?!? Yunho questioned.

"I think maybe $100 should be fine?" Yunho said.

"Oh okay, no biggie. Just take some money out of my wallet. Keep the change if there's any left over."

Yunho was shocked. He's trusting ME with his WALLET!? AND he's letting me keEP the change??? This mans is too good to be true. Maybe i should date him. Gotta take the chance before anyone else does hehe.

"Okay, thank you!"

"I expect you to come back within an hour. You don't have a phone, so be careful."

"Of course." Yunho said and searched for Mingi's wallet in his room.

He found it quite quickly, and opened it up.

"Oh my god it's filled. Lord don't tell me there's actually $5,000 in here." Yunho internally face palmed.

He was going to need some transportation, so he could use a bus or taxi. He just decided to grab 4 $20 bills and two $10 bills. He stuffed it in his pocket and made his way outside.
They lived in a city, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a jewelry store. All he would have to do is catch a taxi and ask to be driven to the nearest jewelry store. He began to walk around, but it was quite hard to since it was really crowded. He walked around for awhile before finally being able to catch a taxi. He got in and asked to be driven to the nearest jewelry store.
The ride was about 10 minutes, so the time flew by.
He was obviously familiar with the area since he's lived here his whole life, but he had never seen a jewelry store in the city.

"Here we are. That will be $13.45"

"Uh well, here's a $20 bill. Keep the change."

"Oh really? Wow thanks!"

Yunho nodded and got out. The place was very lit up, and it seemed to have a decent amount of customers. The building was pretty big, and there were windows that were half the size of the building in the front.
He walked in and an employee greeted him.

"Welcome. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Hello, I was wondering if you guys engraved letters into rings."

"Oh, of course! Follow me."

Yunho nodded and followed the person. He stood in front of a glass showcase with different types of rings.

"These are all the rings that are available to engrave letters on. You can have a maximum of 10 letters. The amount of money you will pay depends on how many letters are given. Feel free to take a look at the rings. I'll be here if you need me."

"Okay, thank you." Yunho thanked and began to examine the rings.

There were 10 types of rings to choose from, and you could either get it in silver or gold. He didn't know which one Mingi would like best, but he chose silver because he thought it would look best.
After looking for a few minutes, he settled on one.

He settled on this one. He thought it looked really cool, so he called over the employee to tell them that he wanted this one.

"Alright! Come this way."

Yunho followed them until they reached a different side of the building. It seemed to be a cashier-like place.

"Write down what you want to be engraved into this ring." They gave Yunho a sticky note and a pen to write with.

He wrote down "Yunho" but then he scratched it off. He felt as if it was too lame, even though he wanted to settle for just that. He thought a little harder and came up with an even better idea. He wrote down "YH x MG" which stands for Yunho x Mingi. Even the thought of that made Yunho blush.

"Okay!" Yunho passed the sticky note over.

"Okay, the cost of that will be $345."

Yunho's jaw dropped.He had no where near enough money!! He could always wait another day, but he didn't want to borrow even more money from Mingi.

"Err.. I'm afraid I don't have enough money."

"That's a shame. Maybe you can come back another day!"

"We'll see.. I'll be off now-"

"Wait! I'll pay it off."

"Huh?"
