The weeks passed and the force strengthened. Richie felt like he was really being pulled towards the other boy. He grew more lonely each day... he just didn't want to seem clingy.
It probably wouldn't look good if he kept just showing up in the middle of the night so they could cuddle. It was something Richie enjoyed, he couldn't lie about that. Except, he lived in fear of Sonia finding out.

He would never Eddie again... she'd lock him up and keep him hidden from the outside world. Richie also knew Eddie wasn't gay. Or at least, that's what the boy had told him and the others in the summer. He had always been know as girly-boy or some shit like that. The others had told Eddie that they would support him but he still denied the accusations so nobody brought it up again.

Being sat in Eddie's closet that time made him think. Eddie's clothes. Made sense why people assumed. He had no problem with it though, because it calmed him down... maybe he would've had a chance with the boy.

Richie's mind had wandered long enough. He picked up his ukulele. The one thing that soothed the boy, was that ukulele. Mostly because he knew Eddie liked it, and he liked Eddie. The sky outside was black, a few stars dotting it dimly. The trees outside shook with the violent wind, horns of cars honked. Everything was rowdy. Nothing was calm enough.

His played with the strings before strumming a little melody. It was soft, calm, rather slow, yet a high pitch. "All to see without my eyes, the first time that you kissed me..." The words came easy. "Boundless by the time I cried, I built your walls around me," The trees stopped shaking, the wind stopped having its temper tantrum, cars drove past quietly and the stars seemed to shine brighter than ever. There were more of them too.

He let out a sigh and smiled. "White noise what an awful sound, fumbling by rogue river..." It was one of his favourite songs, one he played to Eddie, but never sang the lyrics. "Feel my feet above the ground, hand of god, deliver me..." The song had always helped Eddie sleep when he was panicked... that's why Richie loved it so much, because it helped Eddie. "Oh... woah woe is me, the first time that you touched me... oh will wonders ever cease?" The next line, Richie had believed, was the truest thing he had ever heard.

"Blessed it be the mystery of love..."
