The bag hit the floor and the door slammed shut. Eddie's face once again covered in bruises and scars. He slowly walked into the kitchen where Richie was washing dishes. The taller boy turned around to greet him but immediately stopped after he saw the state of the kid in front of him. "Eds! What happened?" He freaked out. Eddie stayed silent for a minute before bursting into tears.
Richie settles down beside him on the couch, a coffee in hand and an apple juice for Eddie. "It was bowers again..." he said reluctantly. He didn't know what could be done to stop him... "You need to say something to someone..." Richie whispered to him. "And tell them what? Yeah, Henry's been calling me a faggot and it's sort of true can you please stop him?" He rolled his eyes and spoke with a sarcastic tone. "Wait, sort of true?" He was confused...
"Forget I said anything," Eddie spat quickly. "No please tell me Eds," He whispered even quieter. Eddie put his head in his hands and sighed. "I just feel... strange... like maybe, I might be gay... but my mother could never find out..." Richie put a hand on Eddie's back gently and patted the spot. "Don't worry Eds, if it makes you feel better... I might be too." Richie smiled at the floor.
It was sad that the losers weren't there, they would have cheered and said that they had called it... Eddie smiled at that thought. "You are? Bev would be so happy..." he giggled. "Yeah... So what made you think that? Anyone in mind? Kid at school?" This wasn't even Richie playing dumb, he genuinely didn't know. "You could say that..." Eddie smiled softly. "Ooh spill!" Richie poked Eddie's arm and laughed.
Eddie didn't want to. But he did. "Well... it's hard to talk about, with you." He said bluntly yet jokingly. "Wha- why?" He was an actual idiot. "Jesus you're dumb..." Eddie sighed and took Richie's hand and his face heated. Richie buried his face. "S-sorry!" Eddie cried out. "It's fine Eddie spaghetti," He smiled and rested his head down on the smaller boys shoulder. "You don't have to tell me," Eddie smiler and ran his fingers through Richie's hair. "I will, some day..."
