10. The Mistake

(Y/N) POV

Teresa and I were moved to another room,

It was full of bunk beds but there were only two of us,

I quickly said goodnight to her and fell asleep on one of the top bunks with her on the bottom.

Not long after I fell asleep I heard the door creak open,

"Miss (Y/N), we will be taking you back to your friends but you will come to your rooms once dinner is finished."

I nodded and slipped out of bed ready to wake Teresa,

But when I pulled back her blanket she wasn't there-

"But sir Teresa-"

"Teresa is in good hands. We just had to run a few more tests on her."

I didnt trust these people but I nodded and followed him out of the room and into a hall,

The hall was full with rows of tables and chairs, children sat at everyone.

The guy shoved me forward as I had stopped moving to gap at the room,

I glared at the man over my shoulder and barely regestired Newt as he ran full speed at me and wrapped me in a bear hug,

"Oh love your alright!"

I quickly hugged him back and rested my head in his neck,

The guard behind us rolled his eyes and told us to sit back down,

Newt still had his arms around me as he lead me back to the table where Thomas, Frypan, Winston and Minho were.

Everyone hugged me and then thomas asked where teresa was,

"I dont know. We were in the same room when we fell asleep but when the guard woke me this morning he said that they needed to run a few more tests on her. Sorry thomas."

Thomas looked deflated and sunk into the seat,

Then Janson walked into the room and stood at the front, everyone quieted down,

"Good morning Ladies and gentlemen."

He pulled out a list,

"Now if you hear your name please step forward."

He called some names and everyone clapped,

"Where are they going?"

Minho asked the boys who sat in front of is,

"Aparently some sort of paradise far away from WICKED."

the one boy said, the other nodded,

"Yeah supposedly a farm, but they can only take a handful at a time..."

Newt clutched my hand tighter as he watched the people leave the room.

I finished off my dinner with the boys and after I argued with the guard, he dragged me back to my room.

I cuddled into bed and waited for Teresa to come back.

She never did.

The next morning I woke up and I had no idea what time it was,

The guard took me for some tests and then gave me lunch in my room and left.

I sat around the room until the guard came back and took me into the dining hall, again for dinner.

I sat between Minho and Newt,

Janson came into the room greeting all of us,

"Now if you hear your name come forward."

He started calling names and I zoned out, newts warm hand in mine, he drew circles with his thumb on my hand.

And then he stopped,

I looked up at him confused and he gave me a horrified look.

"Um Miss (Y/N) would you please step forward?"

It was Janson...

He was calling my name.

"Uh i-"

I didnt get up from my seat,

Minhos hand rested on my back and newts hand still held mine.

"Where am I going?"

I asked, everyone was looking at me,

"Why to paradise miss. Just follow me and we-"

"What about my friends?"

I asked, Janson looked at the boys then back to me,

"Miss I assure you-"

"No. I'm sorry Janson. Please give someone else my spot. Im not leaving without my friends."

I could see Janson waver,

He snapped his fingers and guards grabbed my arms,

"Please take miss (Y/N) back to her room."

Newt and Minho went to grab at the guards but they pushed them back,

I kicked the ones shin and he howled in pain his grip on my arm tightening,

"NEWT-"

the guards dragged me behind the door and through the hallway back to my room.

I heard the door lock and sighed in frustration.

I slumped onto my bed and starred up at the ceiling,

"...oh Newt...

What have we gotten ourselves into now?"
