Newts POV

The next morning, we all packed up and quickly left the sight.

The rest of the walk looked pretty flat-

Just dry ground that cracked with every step.

I walked in the front with Thomas and (Y/N),

Teresa and Minho behind us and Aris and Fry in the back.

Our water supplies were low and food was scarce.

It was too hot... too hot to breath, or think or move.

We kept walking,

It felt like hours before we took a break,

(Y/N) was leaning against an old building beside Teresa.

She was so pale, her lips were dry and her breaths were shallow.

I was splitting an apple with Minbo when I heard Teresa cry out-

"(Y/N)!"

We all spun to see (Y/N) fall forward and Teresa just manage to catch her and lower her to the ground,

(Y/N) was on her hands and knees as we all crouched around her,

"(Y/N) Breath- it's ok its-"

She hurled up the little substance left in her stomach, the vomit coming out clear with a few spots of fruit.

She spat one last time and shakly wipped her lips with her sleeve.

She sat on the floor properly leaning against the wall.

Teresa had a hand on her shoulder as I had a hand on her thigh.

"Oh shuck..."

She sighed as she spat again,

I gently placed my hand to her forehead, she was burning up.

"... God (Y/N) you're burning up."

She groaned and wipped at her forehead, sweat dripping down onto her lips.

She coughed and her hands were shaking as she placed one on my shoulder and the other on Teresa's,

"Ok- ok I'm gonna stand on the count of three-"

I shook my head-

"(Y/N) I dont think-"

"1...2...3!"

She didnt wait for me as she gripped Teresa and my shoulders and pulled herself to her feet.

She stood for a few shaky seconds before she steadied,

I took her hands in mine as she attempted a step forward and stumbled,

She was shaking terribly and was sickly pale,

"We need to move Newt-"

She said to me as Minho slung one of her arms around his shoulders,

"Shes right Newt. We cant stay for too long... let's get moving."

I sighed but nodded and slung her other arm over my shoulder,

Fry, Thomas, Aris and Teresa split Minho and my bags between them as we continued to walk,

We walked for hours and traded helping (Y/N) who insisted she was fine.

We finally stopped moving just after sunset, there was no shelter and no soft sand as we lay down, using our jackets and bags as pillows and blankets.
