Chapter Five

(Josephine's POV)

You ever have those moments in life that you truly regret? That's a moment I'm having right now.

The instant I opened the door was the instant I regretted it. I wanted to close it and go back to bed, but it was too late.

"Josephine!" My mother exclaimed as she pushed her way inside.

"Hello mother."

She kissed me on the cheek and moved further inside my apartment. My father, brother, and sister were next to come in.

"Sorry about her. She's been like that the whole way here." Reid, my brother said as he hugged me.

"It's fine." I sighed.

"Hi sweetie." Dad said.

"Hi."

"So how's work?" Mom asked.

"It's good."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Well that's good. We've brought you some stuff."

I rolled my eyes.

My family visits me once every two weeks. They live about a hour away. My mother would come every other day if she could but I've forbidden her from doing that. It would drive me crazy. Every time she visits, she bring all kinds of things. She usually brings some food that she made at home, groceries, and anything else she can think of.

She also has the tendency to clean. She'll go around and clean everything. Even if it's cleans. Marie helps me clean just about every time she comes over. My mother just likes to keep herself busy and she likes to make sure that I am healthy and living well.

My sister, Elena, was playing with Titan while my brother and dad channel surfed on my tv for something to watch.

Yes, I'm blind and yes I have a tv. I have a fire stick so Alexa helps me find shows to watch.

I was trying to keep my mother from completely rearranging my kitchen when there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it." Dad said.

He ran over and opened the door before I could.

"Hi. Is Josephine here?" I heard a voice ask.

"Maybe. Who are you?" Dad asked as I heard Reid head over.

I quickly rushed towards the door and pushed them out of the way.

"Sorry about them." I said to Kai.

"It's no problem."

"What can I do for you?" I asked.

"A piece of your mail was in my mailbox." He said.

Just then I felt a large warm hand grab mine followed by a piece of paper being placed in my hand.

"Thank you."

"Not a problem. I'll see you later?" He said, still holding my hand in his.

"Uh yeah. Have a good day."

"You too."

Once he was gone and my door shut my brother exploded.

"Holy crap on a cracker! I'm starstruck." Reid said.

"What?" Mom asked.

"Who is he?" Dad asked.

"My neighbor. He moved in not that long ago."
