"Zarkon!" Allura gasped. "How did he find us?!"

"His commanders must have radioed him from Olkarion!" Keith guessed, already getting into his seat.

"We need to wormhole, now!" Shiro warned, in his element. "Everyone to your stations. We've got to put some distance between us and Zarkon. This could be the fight of our lives."

You hoped that wasn't the case. It seemed too soon to face Zarkon right now. You faced your father fearfully, wondering why Zarkon chose now to pursue you personally instead of sending warships after you like before.

Keith and Lance launched defense drones, taking down most of the jet fighters that closed in on the ship. Noticing how worried you looked, Lance decided to cheer you up with a few of his signature smooth actions.

"Hey, (Y/N), watch this!" he boasted, aiming his drone at a random fighter. He then attempted to twist it into a stylish flip whilst taking out the jet, but Keith's defense drone rammed into him, shooting down the fighter instead. "Hey!"

"Sorry!" Keith said halfheartedly. "Gotta be quick!"

Lance was not pleased at being staged up. "How's THAT for quick?!" he retorted, purposefully bumping his drone into Keith's.

Keith let out an angry growl from behind his gritted teeth. "You...!"

The two then engaged in a mock battle of bumper-carring their drones into each other until Shiro told them to knock it off.

"Yeah, KEITH!" Lance snapped.

Shiro looked extremely annoyed, but he turned to Pidge and Hunk. "Keep calling out those fighters, Pidge. Hunk, how are the defenses holding?"

Hunk looked groggy in reply. "I don't know. Ten percent? Fifteen maybe? Everything's a blur. I've been up too long. I have tired eyes!"

"I know we just came off an intense battle, but we've got to stay focused, just until we jump,"

"And when is that?" Keith asked.

"They're still too close!" Coran said, tapping like mad at the console. "We need to gain more speed!"

As you looked outside at the swarming fighters, you noticed a moon in the distance. Remembering how you learned at the Garrison how ship speed could increase if caught in one's gravity, you ran to Allura and pointed to the moon.

Allura noticed and nodded in agreement. "Good eye, (Y/N)! Everyone, hold on tight!"

The Castle then made a massive swerve as it got caught in the moon's gravity and indeed began to speed up. Unfortunately, you didn't have time to grab onto anything, and instead went flying backwards. You curled your arms over your head to shield it, expecting to go crashing into a wall. However, you ended up falling into something soft, but you didn't uncover your eyes to see what it was.

"We're clear to wormhole!" Coran announced to Allura. She placed her hands upon the controls and a wormhole opened up in front of the ship.

As they went through, you kept your head covered the entire time. You heard Coran shout something, then the spinning feeling of the wormhole travel ended abruptly. When you finally uncovered your head, you noticed that the soft cushion you had fallen back on was Keith's lap. He looked as equally surprised and embarrassed to see you.

"Aw, c'mon!" Lance complained, spitting out a rose he had mysteriously had with him the entire time. "I was totally set up for that catch! Why do you have to be a literal chick magnet, Keith?!"

"Hey, it's not like I ASKED her to fall!" Keith shot back. He then glanced back down at you, speaking in a gentler tone. "You hurt, (Y/N)?"

You shook your head firmly, quickly standing up and bowing your head in apology, face red for what felt like the millionth time.
