You stood with the rest of the team as Shiro spoke. "Okay, look. I now know for certain that Zarkon is tracking us through the Black Lion. We have to find some way to stop him."

"How are we gonna do that?" Pidge asked him.

"We've never had this situation before," agreed Allura. "Two paladins battling for the same Lion."

"Well, unless we want Zarkon taking control of Voltron every time we get close, I'll have to forge a new bond with my Lion," Shiro decided. "One that's stronger than his."

At the mention of this, you had an idea. You asked Shiro if you could help him create a new bong with the Black Lion, as it would listen to your advice.

Shiro looked down at you lovingly, but sternly. "I'm afraid I can't ask that of you, sweetie. Even if he's not tracking us through you, Zarkon knows a spirit guide exists within Voltron. The rescue mission and your nightmare from before proved THAT. If he's able to reach you on the astral plane, then it's just not worth the risk. This is something I have to do on my own."

You gazed up at your father sadly. You would've liked to help him connect to the Black Lion and really exert your role on the team, but it seemed all the risks kept stopping you. Still, you knew Shiro was strong and wise. He would figure something out. Digressing, you stepped back and listened to Coran go on about the teludav lenses. He was planning to take them to a swap moon not too far from here and was discussing the inhabitants.

"The Unilu were traders and pirates that roamed the galaxies and dealt in black market goods," Coran explained. "Umvy spice, by-tor water, little bottles of infinity vapor. Of course, you had to bargain. No one could bargain like the Unilu. Last time, I ended up giving away three-quarters of my shipment of Lango in exchange for a used pogo oscillator."

Allura and Coran laughed at the memory. "Father was not pleased about that."

Lance swept in and eyed Allura with one of signature flirty looks. "Well, while Coran is picking up his lenses I'll take you shopping for something sparkly."

Coran stopped him in his tracks. "This isn't shopping! You're not wandering around saying 'Oooo What a lovely pink hat! This is so becoming.' No! I can't allow Allura to get anywhere near those filthy, lowballing Unilu hoodlums."

"But I'd love something sparkly," Allura begged, blinking puppy-dog eyes at Coran. However, it was to no avail.

"Look, you're the only one who can operate the Castle. You need to be resting, after all you've been through," he said. "Now, let's ready a pod for our mission. We need to get in find the scaultrite lenses, and just get out."

Your eyes instantly lit up. You hadn't gone shopping for AGES. As a matter of fact, you only remember going out to a mall once in your life, over a semester break with Shiro and Adam. Though this was nowhere near the same, you were still excited about getting a chance to go. Then, you remembered unlike your past shopping day, Shiro wouldn't be going with you. This made you hesitate about whether you wanted to go or not.

Unfortunately, the rest of the team was too excited to think about your thoughts. "Shotgun!" Lance said excitedly, grabbing your wrist and already pulling you along to the pod.

"What? No, you have to be in the pod bay to call shotgun!" Hunk argued.

"Since when?"

"Uh, since forever? That's shotgun etiquette! I wrote the book."

"Coran? This Unilu swap meet looks an awful lot like a regular mall," Pidge said skeptically under a super-sketchy disguise Coran had given her and the rest of the team. You shrank into your cloak, feeling as if your outfit was shouting at trouble to come find you.
