One evening, Shiro watched you re-enter the kitchen, his brow knitted with concern. Once again, you carried an empty brown lunch bag but looked paler and skinnier than before. Both he and Adam had put their cooking skills to work in making sure you had a good meal to enjoy during break time at the Garrison, but you seemed to be gaining no weight and had even been losing some in the past few weeks since you started.

Shiro had finally decided something was up and got up from his chair to speak with you. "Sorin? Can I talk to you for a moment?"

You cheerfully smiled and nodded to show you were open for chatting.

"Adam and I noticed that you haven't been eating much at school...is something going on?"

Your face fell, not as open for discussion on that topic as you were for anything else. However, you knew better than to hide anything from your fathers, so you sighed and admitted that there was a group of friends you had made during lunchtime. They seemed friendly, but they often asked for a large portion of the food Shiro and Adam had packed you, often leaving you with slim to no food.

Adam, who had been listening in on this conversation, stood up sharply from his own chair. "What?! They've been manipulating you out of your lunch?! (Y/N), tell me their names, classes, EVERYTHING. Those boys-!"

Shiro waved his fiancee down calmly. "Take it easy, Adam, there's an easier way to solve this." Turning back to you, he placed a hand on your shoulder. "Listen, baby, I know it seems like those boys are being friendly to you, and I'm happy they aren't picking on you, but there's a possibility they're only acting nice to take your food. So, tomorrow afternoon, if they come up to you again and ask you for your lunch, just say no. If they're really your friends, they'll back off."

You thought about Shiro's advice. You were so sure that these boys were legitimately being nice to you. However, it wouldn't hurt to try. Besides, Shiro and Adam's lunches were the best in school. It would be no wonder they would want a piece of it.

When you nodded to show that you understood, Shiro smiled and kissed your forehead. "That's my girl. Now, head on up to bed."

You got up and rushed upstairs, Adam ruffling your hair as you passed. "G'night, L'il Kitten."

As you continued upstairs, Adam cast a worried glance back at Shiro. "You sure this is a good idea? What if they try to hurt her?"

Shiro poured a cup of tea for the both of them, his face undisturbed by the concern that crossed Adam's. "I've already taken care of that possibility. Just leave it to me."

...

The next afternoon, you scampered quickly over to the corner lunch table where you usually at, gripping your lunch bag nervously. You knew you had to do this in order to determine your relationship with the other boys, but you weren't sure what would come of it.

You had barely sat down and opened your bag when the group came over. The first boy, leader of the little group, was James Griffin, a smart fellow with wavy brown hair and sharp eyes. He had two others behind him, but they hadn't even bothered to introduce themselves since he did the talking for all three of them.

"Hey, if it isn't our little buddy! How are you?" James greeted you brightly like he had every day since he first met you. Before you could answer, he surfed right over his own question. "So, what's on the menu today?"

Looking down at your knees, you muttered something about the various things Shiro and Adam had cooked you for today. James seemed pleased by your response. "Alrighty! What do we start with?"
