Truth or dare

2nd January 1986, 3:15pm

El and Max watched as Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will played their first d&d game of the year. El still didn't quite understand it even though Mike explained it to her a few times. Max was just sat reading a magazine, ignoring all the shouting going on around her.

El, however was fixated on Mike. She admired the way he spoke so passionately and threw his hands around when he talked. I love you she thought. Woah El what? Love? Yeah, definitely love. She smiled to herself, but was snapped back to reality by Max tugging at her arm.

"Hey El you know if you stare at Mike any longer your eyes might actually fall out of your head." She laughed.

"What?" El asked, not really paying attention to her.

"Nothing" Max smirked.

Once the boys finally finished their game (much to Dustin's complaint of it being too short even though it was 6 hours), El practically jumped on Mike and showered him with kisses. "I've been wanting to do that for 6 hours". She whispered.

"Guys if you're gonna suck face do it someplace else pleeease" Lucas complained.

"We could say the same to you Lukey" Mike chuckled.

Lucas flipped him off.

"What do you guys wanna do now?" Will asked.

"I don't mind" El said.

Silence fell about the group as they pondered what to do.

"Guys let's play truth or dare!" Dustin yelled making everybody jump.

"Okay, ow Dustin I liked having ear drums" Max complained. "But yeah truth or dare sounds good".

"Let's do it" Lucas said.

"Mike what's truth or dare?" El asked innocently.

"It's a stupid game which I don't think we should be playing." Mike huffed.

"Come on Mike don't be a party pooper" Dustin whined.

"Fine but I'm not explaining it to El" Mike said as he sat down on the couch.

"Basically all it is, someone says to you truth or dare and you have to choose which one. If you pick truth they will ask you a question and you have to answer it truthfully, and if you pick dare they will give you something to do and you have to do it." Will said quietly to El.

"Okay. Sound fun can we play" El smiled.

Max started. "Dustin, truth or dare?"

"Dare" Dustin said, slightly nervous about what Max was going to say.

"Okay, Dustin you have to go upstairs, find Nancy and tell her you love her." Max ordered.

"What?!" Dustin yelled.

"Do it" Max said flatly.

"Okay okay" he said and he trudged upstairs.

Five minutes later Dustin came back red faced. "She told me to fuck off".

The whole group fell about laughing.

"Okay who's next" Max said.

"El, truth or dare?" Dustin said.

After what Dustin just went though El thought it was safer to go with truth. "Truth" El smiled.

"Do you love Mike?" Dustin smirked.

El and Mike's eyes widened and they looked at eachother.

"Yes" she said quietly.

Everybody's mouths fell open in shock.

"Well... I'm gonna go get some water" Lucas said awkwardly as he ran upstairs.

"Me too" Max said.

"Me three" Dustin said as he bolted up the stairs.

Will just shook his head and followed.

"You love me?" Mike said, his whole face lighting up.

"Yeah. Is that bad?" El said, slightly nervous.

"No El it's amazing. I love you too but I didn't know if you felt the same way".

El felt like crying, nobody had ever said that to her before. She was about to speak but before she could say anything Mike's lips were on hers and his hands were in her hair. She loved him. He loved her.

Maybe truth or dare wasn't so stupid after all.

This was kind of a cliché I'm sorry but I thought the storyline was kind of cute. Leave storyline suggestions in the comments, I'd love to try some :)
