"Thank you have a nice day."

El left the store with a huge smile on her face, their shopping trip had been a success. Joyce had given Mike and El the task of running some errands while she was at work, so they walked into town to the supermarket and purchased everything on the list. Joyce often trusted El with things like this to get her used to the different responsibilities as she becomes a young adult.

"Need some help?" Mike asked, noticing how El was struggling to carry all the bags.

"Yes please." El said, passing three bags to him and keeping the other two.

They had just exited the store's automatic doors when Mike realised he left Joyce's purse inside, so he quickly dropped the bags with El and ran back.

El gently set down the other bags because they were starting to hurt her hands. She leant back against the brick wall and looked up at the sky, smiling at the birds flying above her head. She always appreciated the little things about life, guess being kept in a lab for all of your childhood does that to you. She closed her eyes and let her imagination roam free, picturing her and Mike in the future just like she always does.

Though, her happy thoughts were soon interrupted by a deep voice which immediately snapped her out of her daydream.

"Hey gorgeous."

El turned to see who spoke but she didn't recognise the person. It was a tall, buff guy with short brown hair who was standing across from her with his arms crossed. His eyes were dark and full of what almost looked like lust and danger.

"Who are you?" El asked, not moving from her position against the wall.

"I'm your next boyfriend beautiful." He smirked, moving closer to her.

"No you're definitely not." El scoffed, turning away from him.

"Ooh a feisty one, even better." He grinned deviously.

"Ugh." El rolled her eyes, not sparing a glance at him.

"Come on baby, don't resist me." He said, edging even closer to her.

"Leave me alone." El warned, feeling the anger and fear building up inside her. She knew what happens when she gets angry, her powers get out of control.

"Why would I? You're stunning." He smirked, leaning closer so she could feel his breath on her neck. He pulled away and scanned her face, waiting for a response.

El stayed silent, her heart in her mouth. She just prayed that Mike would come back any second and they could leave.

"Awe babe don't ignore me" He laughed, trying to get a rise out of her.

"Go away." She said through gritted teeth, trying to not show her fear.

"No."

"Asshole" El muttered before flipping him off and picking up the bags, moving slightly closer to the door. She didn't know how long she could keep up this tough act because inside she was freaking out.

"Okay listen here brave girl, I don't know who you think you are but no one talks to me like that." He snarled, taking a few steps towards her.

"I'll talk to you however I want thanks, you're harassing me after all." El spat, flicking her hair over her shoulder.

"You little-"

"Hey asshole!" A voice cut him off and El breathed a sigh of relief, knowing exactly who it was.

"Leave my girl alone."

"Your girl? Pfft no way, she's way outta your league." The boy laughed.
