It was 10:30am and Mike was currently asleep on the sofa, his mom kept him off school as he has the flu. El had already rang the house 5 times that morning, once to ask why he wasn't in school and then a bunch of times to check on him...and it wasn't even 11:00am. Karen was the one who answered every time, Mike claimed he was unable to breathe and couldn't talk.

Meanwhile at school, El was stressing, she just wanted to get home to Mike, she didn't know what the flu was but she didn't like the sound of it. Currently, El was in maths with Lucas, luckily he was sat next to her and helped her whenever she got stuck. Although the teacher was talking, El wasn't listening, her mind was on Mike.

"Lucas?" El whispered.

"Yeah?" Lucas whispered back.

"What is flu?" El mumbled, feeling stupid that she didn't know.

"Oh, it's an illness, it's basically like a cold but you also get a fever." Lucas smiled.

"Oh okay." El felt a bit better, she was scared, she thought it was something bad.

El rang again at lunchtime. "Hello?"

"Hey beautiful" Mike picked up this time, with the cliché sickness voice.

"You sound well" El giggled.

"I think I'm dying El" Mike sniffed.

El giggled again "you're not dying Mike."

"You'll feel bad if that's the last thing you ever say to me." Mike said between coughing fits.

"Can I come see you later?" El said sweetly.

"I mean I'd love to see you but I don't want you to get ill." Mike said.

"I don't care." El smiled against the phone.

"I think Hopper would kill me if I got you ill." Mike chuckled.

"I wouldn't let him kill you." El laughed.

"It's up to you though, I am really bored." Mike hoped she would but he knew he would feel awful if he got her ill.

"I'm going to, I'll see you straight after school. I love you." El smiled.

"I love you too. Bye El." Mike smirked, he had the best girlfriend ever.

"Bye Mike." El out the phone down and skipped back into the cafeteria.

"Where did you go?" Dustin yelled across the table.

"To call Mike isn't it obvious." Max smirked.

"I needed to know he was okay." El mumbled.

"He will be fine, he's probably exaggerating." Lucas said.

"Oh yeah stalker? The last time you came down with flu you made me walk to the shop to buy you medicine because you thought that if you went, you would die on the way." Max chuckled.

The whole table erupted into laughter, leaving Lucas wanting the ground to swallow him up.

They continued to embarrass Lucas until the bell went, Max and Lucas went to history and Dustin, Will and El went to Biology. The rest of the day went quickly and before El knew it she was knocking at the Wheelers door.

"Hey sweetie." Karen smiled at the little brunette at her door.

"Hi Mrs Wheeler, how is he doing?"

"Well in his case, he's dying a slow and painful death, typical man flu." Karen chuckled.

"What's man flu?" El was confused. Did only men get it? Is that a good thing?

"It's the same as the flu, only men exaggerate the symptoms and think they've got something worse." Karen couldn't help but smile at the girl.

"Hey I can hear you y'know" a quiet voice came from the living room.

"Go ahead sweetie, you might want to keep some distance though, the last thing you need is the flu." Karen turned into the kitchen to make Mike some soup.

"Hey" El called as she entered the room.

"Hey" Mike croaked, trying to sit up.

"How are you feeling?" El gave him a small smile.

"Like death." Mikes voice was raspy and deep.

"Such a baby." El rolled her eyes.

"Hey, like I said earlier you will feel bad if that's the last thing you say to me" Mike chuckled lightly.

"Wanna watch a film?" El asked.

"That's all I've done all day, can we do something else?" Mike was bored out of his mind, he was suffering serious cabin fever and he's only been stuck inside for a day.

"What do you want to do?" El leant down to brush a curl out of his eyes.

"Cuddle me" Mike said.

"Mike I can't." El knew she was going to give in but she had to at least try and put up a fight.

"Please." Mike pouted, the same pout which made her heart melt.

"Fine but don't tell Hopper." El smirked at him.

"I promise." Mike smiled.

Although Hopper did find out because a few days later El had the flu and when Mike came to visit her, Hopper threatened to beat him up if he got too close.
