As soon as Hyun Ji set out to find someone she knew, there were a series of continues flash that went her way. Looking ahead to see if it's one of the uninvited paparazzis, her frown was replaced with a smile seeing her older brother.
"Hyuk Min oppa!" she called as she started running for the photographer.
She was welcomed with an embrace from the older brother. "Hyun Ji-ya, I missed you." he said while squeezing her.
"Me too." she answered, looking behind his shoulders. She saw the rest of her family and smiled even more, letting go of her brother and moving on to tackle the rest of her family.
"Umma, Appa!" she shouted as she embraced both.
They both hugged her back smiling as wide as she was. Lee Jeomson, her mother, hugged her again after she let go of her father, Lee Kyonhwan.
"Here's our maknae! Aigoo~ We're so proud of you." Jeomson said and looked at her worriedly as she cupped her daughter's cheeks into her hands. "Are you even eating?" she asked full of worry in her tone.
"Neh, don't worry umma, I eat a LOT of food. They just have to be healthy." she answered, emphasizing on 'lot' to not make her mother more uneasy. She was already concerned from way before as Hyun Ji was just starting out as a trainee for losing a lot of weight and juggling school along with her rigorous training.
"Hyun Ji-ya~" cooed her two year older sister, Sunmi as she put her arms around her. "Yah! You got so much skinnier!" she exclaimed.
"Mmmm, she's right." her older brother said, doing the same as the other sister squeezing the poor girl in the middle.
Hyun Ji struggled her way out of the two and made her way to her dad, hiding behind him for protection. "Appa, save me." she smiled at the sweet guy.
Kyonhwan laughed seeing his kids tease each other like old times. It brought him back to the memories where they were still little playing with each other lovingly.
"Yah, you guys stop it." laughed their mother shaking her head slightly. "You guys are what? 25, 18, and 16? You should act your age." she teased.
"Neh~" answered the three, laughing amongst themselves.
They all talked with each other for a while, catching up about their everyday lives.
The two older siblings decided to leave early because Hyukmin had a photoshoot early in the morning and Sunmi had school.
"I'll drop off Sunmi on the way." Hyukmin reassured his parents. "Mian, Hyun Ji-ya. I wish I could stay for your performance." he said to the youngest as he hugged her again.
"Me too! Hyun Ji, I'm sorry." she apologized, waiting for her turn to embrace the girl.
"Anieyo, it's okay." smiled the maknae. "You guys coming even just for now, totally means a lot to me. Thank you." she added as she hugged her older sister.
The two left leaving Hyun Ji with her parents. Hyun Ji looked around the place to see if any of the members were around, she found Hye Rae and Hae Jung on the dance floor, while their parents were on the other side conversing with each other.
She found herself waving to her member's parents as they noticed her. Soon, her parents followed her, waving at the others.
"Hyun Ji-ya, we'll be back." said her mother as she kissed Hyun Ji on the forehead. "We'll go talk to Hae Jung and Hye Rae's parents."
The maknae nodded and smiled, she liked it when their parents all got together, it made her family bigger.
As her parents left, she tried to go to the dance floor to join her unnies, who were enjoying their time with 6 guys that looked familiar. Bwo?! Teen Top? Omo, I have to join them. She thought.
Na Eun at this time was just making her escape away from Sunggyu and found Hyun Ji, attacking her with a hug.
"Kyah!" Hyun Ji screamed as she was taken by surprise. "Unnie! Why'd you do that?" she started scolding as she recognized her member.
"Hyun Ji-ya..." sobbed Na Eun.
"Omo, unnie, what's wrong? Who do I have to kill for making you cry?" she asked as she patted the crying girl in the back.
Na Eun tried to compose herself, letting go of the maknae and wiping away her tears. "I think... I just made... Sunggyu oppa... hate me even... more" she said, pausing each time from the hiccups.
"Chincha? Well, do you want to apologize to him?"
"Ani!" Na Eun protested. "It's just, I can't take it anymore. He always does the same thing when I'm talking to him. He ignores me most of the time and he doesn't even act like we've known each other since we were babies." she continued, her rage slowly coming back. "I just miss the old him, that's all." she confessed.
The maknae nodded once again, not believing how naive her unnie was. Can't she tell that it's exactly the opposite of how Sunggyu oppa really feels? She asked herself.
The other maknae from Infinite ran his way to the two girls.
"Eo, Na Eun-noona! You were here?" he asked in his high-tone voice. "Sunggyu hyung is looking all over for you." he informed. "Tch, he can never do anything by himself and always make me do it for him."
"You never saw me!" glared the noona as she made her escape from the two maknaes.
Sunjong laughed as Na Eun ran trying to hide herself from his leader. "How naive can that girl be?"
"Majayo. How can she not even now? Everyone already knows exceot her. It's so obvious." Hyun Ji replied.
They made fun of the two for some time, until Girls' Generation TaeTiSeo's Twinkle came on.
Hyun Ji grabbed Sunjong's arms right away and pulled him to the dance floor. "Oppa, we have to dance Twinkle."
Sunjong smiled as he was being pulled away, shaking his head at his best friend. "Araso, araso."
They danced right away, exactly copying the three girls from TaeTiSeo.
"Even if I hide it, I twinkle - what to do?~~" the two sang. They continued to expertly dance the whole song from beginning to the end.
From Beast's Beautiful Night, B.A.P's No Mercy, and PSY's Gangnam Stlye, the two danced their way having fun at every beat to it.
Suddenly, the music stopped and proceeded with a slow love song. C.N. Blue's Lee Jonghyun's My Love softly played through the speakers as the people om the dance floor started looking for partners to dace with.
"Oppa, wanna dance with me?" Hyun Ji shyly asked blushing, smiling at the other maknae.
"Mmmm, araso." Sunjong replied, nodding his head. He blushed like she did. They've danced a million songs together, but this was the first time they ever danced a slow song.
Hyun Ji wrapped her arms around Sunjong's neck, while the other wrapped his hands around her waist. They stared at each other for a few seconds, swaying to the music not saying a word.
The younger girl smiled, resting her head on his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat. Only if she could stay like that all the time. She hoped.
Sunjong rested his chin on top of Hyun Ji's head. This was normal for them as they were that close of a best friend. They've been through thick and thin and they would do anything for the other.
Hyun Ji sighed. Aish, oppa. If only you weren't as naive as Na Eun unnie. She thought.
