Underwater Waifu
Though you could quote one of the many sayings from your employer, Andrew Ryan, you could not properly put into words how irritated you were at your current work.
As Rapture's leading marketing head, it fell on you to make appealing advertisements for the public to notice, which would then lead them to purchase the Plasmids that your employer, Ryan Industries, produced.
But unsurprisingly, your job was both boring, and recently aggravating, as the newest Plasmid, "Insect Swarm".
Though it was made as a non lethal defense Plasmid, Insect Swarm was difficult to market as insects being fired from someone's hand was understandably cringe inducing.
In a fit of anger, you hastily left your office with your jacket and wallet, leaving to get fresh air...or water, hoping it would help you think.
You're favorite place to relax was the Arcadia gardens, as you always felt at peace with plant life, so you made your way there.
Arcadia was just as lovely as you always knew it to be, with the few people enjoying nature in a quiet bliss as you were.
You sat at a bench, and laid your head back, a sigh of frustration leaving you as your body eased out of it's tensity.
You lifted your hand to your gaze, and used the Insect Swarm Plasmid to summon a single bee on your fingertip, thinking on how to properly sell such an ability.
Then, as if by some supernatural force, you saw a woman with pure black hair hidden under a quaint hat kneeling by a bush of flowers.
You felt an odd familiarity to this woman, as of you knew her from many years ago, and approached her to further understand your feeling.
And upon seeing her face, you did.
You: Eleanor? Eleanor Lamb?
The woman looked at you in surprise, and suddenly recognized you.
Eleanor: (F/N) (L/N)?
You both looked at each other for a moment, and quickly embraced, feeling Eleanor's soft sweater on your chest.
You held Eleanor in your arms as you felt her chin lay on your shoulder, her warmth a great reminder of your friendship.
In your youth, you and Eleanor were best friends who met in Dionysus Park, where you read books to each other and enjoyed the artwork.
You were brought back to the current time by Eleanor's voice.
Eleanor: It's been so long...you've grown to be such a handsome man.
You: Time has been good to you as well, your eyes are still beautiful.
Eleanor blushed and playfully hit you on the chest.
Eleanor: Oh stop! You always make me blush!
You: But it's cute when you blush.
Eleanor pouted.
You: That's cute too.
Eleanor and you walked down the path that you both were standing on, trading stories of your time apart.
Eleanor had taken to the profession of a psychiatrist, after her mother, and used her substantial wealth from her practice to open an orphanage for children.
You: An orphanage? How noble of a pursuit.
Eleanor: And you an executive, a girl could fall for a man of such standing.
You: Oh please, I'm just an advertising head, nothing spell binding.
Eleanor: But you have an office, reservations to the most expensive restaurants, and even a personal bathysphere.
You: I do have those things, but I was never one to enjoy material things.
Eleanor smiled at you with that sweet smile you knew all to well.
Eleanor: You always had a joy for other people.
You looked at Eleanor with a hidden passion in your eyes.
You: Some people brought me more joy than others.
Eleanor blushed and looked away.
Eleanor: There you go again, making me blush.
You thought for a moment of how wonderful it would be to have Eleanor all to yourself.
You: Would you like to come to my office? I keep a stock of brandy there.
Eleanor's eyes lit up at the prospect of being alone with you.
Eleanor: That would be lovely!
And, like eager lovers, you both rushed to your personal bathysphere and made way to your office.
Timeskip, Your Office
Eleanor looked over your collection of historic armors and weapons as you poured glasses of brandy into glasses.Eleanor: Is this actual Persian armor?
You spoke over your shoulder.
You: Yes, I pulled some strings to have it delivered here from a historical society on the surface.
Eleanor: I'm surprised Mr. Ryan allowed you to have surface artifacts in Rapture.
You walked to Eleanor with two glasses of brandy
You: Well, he and I often golf together on the weekends.
Eleanor took the glass you handed her.
Eleanor: You're friends with Andrew Ryan? You have climbed the business ladder, haven't you?
You: Just a bit, nothing to be proud of.
Eleanor: You were always so humble.
Eleanor sipped the brandy, and quickly blushed.
Eleanor: It's a strong drink.
You chuckled.
You: Or your a lightweight.
Eleanor put her glass down and ran at you laughing.
Eleanor: Am not!
Eleanor then tripped, and fell into your arms, you both blushing.
Eleanor: I'm sorry I...
You: It's alright, it's actually...nice to have you in my arms.
Eleanor rebalanced herself, but did not release you from her hug.
Eleanor: It is nice...being with you.
You both continued your embrace, when Eleanor spoke.
Eleanor: This reminds me of that time we-
Eleanor was cut off by your lips on hers, surprising her.
You quickly pulled away.
You: I'm sorry, I lost control for a moment, I...
Eleanor pulled you back and kissed you, your lips locking with more passion than before.
You pulled back, confused.
Eleanor: Do not regret what I've always known you feel...and what I've always wanted.
You smiled at Eleanor, and kissed her again, knowing that your long held love for her was returned.
And for a moment, and for the rest of your life, the cold city of Rapture became much warmer with someone beside you, as a lover.
