Chapter 5.5 - Yumiko - Participants

A week have gone by and White had already talked to Sam about helping out with the competition we're having. Everyone was already waiting inside an undisclosed location. Apparently only Sam know about this location. She did told us that it is within the campus ground and it is not somewhere far away. Whatever the case, White was one of the person to be highly suspicious of the situation.

"This is rather sketchy..." White whispered to me.

I whispered back, "You don't say...I kinda got dragged into this as well. It's not like I wanna be some sort of a leader. I'm just not the type to be leading the charge most of the time."

"So you're not taking this seriously then?"

"If you say it that way..." I paused for a moment to think and said, "I'm not laying down the arms immediately. I'm going to have fun with this situation. And besides, I do love some strategy games. I'm sure even you are excited for this one, White."

White chuckled, "You're not wrong there. But I won't be experiencing the same thing as you guys are going to be. I'm just a Pantheon in this game."

Always humble. Being a Pantheon isn't really something to say in the most humblest form. Especially when most of the people in this room are Subjects or in the land of Virtue terms, Lords. A Pantheon roles is much different than the Lords. Like a real pantheon, they can observe and even intervene as much as they like just to make things interesting. They can also be appeased under a Lords ruling if they were able to acquire them of course. That will be a huge advantage for the Lords. The challenging part is that there will only be 7 Pantheon.

"Say...besides one of my classmates there...who are the other 5 Pantheon?" asked White as he looked around the mysterious room.

""Let's see..." I began to assess White's inquiry.

From Magic Advancement class, we have Jenna Lionheart. She's a fierce lady from what I heard. Then there is, Marina Orb. Heard she blew up an entire classroom last semester. And finally, Hariken Shiro. Just some random dude. Who am I kidding, he's one of White's friend.

Moving on to Entertainment Magic, I can't believe that Danielle Excelle is also here. The dude has been making wave in terms of entertaining a crowd. That's not the same for this other one...which is Typhon Blanc, another of White's friend.

Then of course, from Magic Studies, Cyclone White was there next to me. The other person he mentioned just now was Lilith Silver, one half of the Silver Twins. I'm sure it will be an exciting game with her there. I finished listing off all 7 Pantheon but that doesn't mean they are the important part of this story. There's also the Lords.

For the sake of not spoiling the whole thing, I'll at least briefly tell the ones that people should look forward to which is our Cardinal, Sam Maximus. There's me, Yumiko Ileana Pavlova. As for the boys, Azreal Azmuth, Shez Hall, Jarde Asmodius, and Rune Fiore. Oh yeah, there's also the other girls to look forward to especially Luft Squall and Izzy Nova Crystallia. These people in particular are quite important throughout White's upcoming experience.

What about me? I'm not the main part of the story but I'll add on in due time. Besides, this is all just a recall of what White wants to remember about. In due time, more people will come in without clumping it all into a big mess right from the start. With that being said...

"This is a lot of people..." expressed White.

Then I asked him, "Say White, what will you be doing once you get in Virtue?"

He gave a little thought and responded, "Maybe I should follow someone I know first. I think that's the safest bet. But then again, we'll be transported to a random location. So my best bet would probably the nearest one. But I'm prioritizing to at least a Lord that knows who am I."

"Well lucky for you, White. Most of the boys here knows who you are right?"

"Of course they know me...Especially after what Sam did to our dorm on the 1st semester..."

White was recalling a time when we barely know each other apart from simply being dorm mates. But as time went by everyone from the same batch get to know each other despite coming from different classes. That was all thanks to Sam Maximus leading the charge in controlling the entire batch of students. That was also the beginning of the rise of Sam Maximus.

She's definitely risen. But not for long now...Times are falling apart and reality will soon kick in for her. No one expects it, not even me. But I can tell its crumbling already...Besides that...

"Yumiko...will Violet be joining you?" White suddenly asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged. "Never tried before. Maybe she won't be inside with us. Why you ask?"

"Oh nothing. I'm just checking." He asked as if I couldn't catch his intention.

White was probably being cautious. He knows that things might go wrong so he asked me that.

I sighed and decided to summon Violet out into the real world.

I told her, "Violet, hide somewhere nearby and keep an eye on us."

Violet nodded and then disappears into thin air as she hides herself.

White then turned and smiled, "Thanks."

I smirked and said, "Oh please...I'm only doing this for my own safety. Not yours."

I said that to him but deep down I kinda did what White asked for. So without even pointing it out, White already suggested something clever before even the whole thing started. Sometimes being cautious all the time won't be good for the health. But if he's planning to survive through this, he better be cautious. Now that's what I call a brilliant asset...
