Chapter 5.16 - Yumiko - Interruption

Several hours have passed since White barged into the balcony of my throne room. I've let White as well as his friends stay at the guest room for the time being. With that being said, it's almost time for dinner and the maid had already invited me to the dining room. I got ready and headed there at once. I also asked the maid to invite our guests as well.

"Your excellency..." A guard opens the door to the dining room as I approached it.

Apparently, White and his friends was already there waiting for me. Blanc can be seen getting out of her seat and bowed to me as I entered the room.

Blanc can be heard whispering to the boys, "Bow down, guys..."

The boys finally do so after being told by Blanc. I took my time settling down to my seat. The maid poured down a glass of cold beverages.

I grabbed the glass and said, "First of all, I welcome you my fellow guest...To The Violet Empire, also famously known as The Richest City in Virtue."

Shiro and Blanc clapped while White merely smiled.

I continued, "With that being said, the commotion that you guys did this afternoon was...disturbing the establishment but I'll glance it over just for this case."

"Thank you, your excellency." Blanc was grateful.

"In any case, a toast to all of you for finally arriving to this amazing empire of mine." I raised my glass.

We all toasted our drink and gulp it down to our throat. We enjoyed our dinner for the time being. After finishing up dinner, we had a little conversation afterwards.

"So tell me, White. How has Virtue done to you since you arrived?" I asked

Shiro then interrupt, "You're not from Virtue, White? Where are you from then?"

White then nervously said, "I'm far away from Virtue..." White then turned to me and told me, "It was a great experience. I got to meet a couple of familiar faces over the course of this two month that I've been here.

"It's amazing how two months have passed since then right?" I told him.

White agreed, "Yeah. To think that you are able to make such a profitable city in no time. You're good at this thing, huh?"

"It's a requirement for our class. Of course I would be able to manage this place. What about you, White. What did you saw?"

"Well..." White began telling us what happened when he first got into Virtue. This was when I was able to know what happened through his tale. Blanc and Shiro was amazed at how White was able to witness the rise of Queen Sam Maximus. I'm not too keen on that part however as she is a nuance for me. What I did got interested in were the politics surrounding the kingdom. As I've been told it was cracking by the day and not a moment too soon.

"That sounds great. To know that you've been traveled far and wide to learn more about the inner philosophy of the Lords." I applauded White.

White also mentioned several things like other Lords coming together and kneel down and raised the Queen's banner as well as news of the surrounding enemies that the Queen plans to secure. It's only a matter of time before the Queen reach my domain. But I won't let that happen...

Just as we were about done with our talk, a messenger ran and kneel in front of me.

"What news do you have for me?" I asked.

The messenger then said, "As you predicted, your excellency. Enemies from The Republic of Nova Crystalist have been seen nearing one of our bases outside the Empire.

"Which base?"

"The FF Base, your excellency."

"Of course, she should go there...It's an obvious choice. You may leave now."

The messenger then left us.

White spoke to me, "Are you going to tell us what's going on or is this just one of your games?"

I got up and chuckled, "Not to worry White. This is not a game and considering that you guys are in one way or another trying to get something out of me, how about a proposal..."

"A proposal? What is she talking about, White?" Shiro wondered.

I told them, "You help me and I help you. With the amount of information going around this empire, I'm sure I'm able to get what you want White. But how are you going to pay for it?"

White looked at me, undeterred and said, "Name your price."

"That's the spirit." I smiled. "Can you help me fend off the enemy for me? You can bring along your friends if you'd like."

"The enemy? You mean the one that is coming to one of your bases?" White was unsure.

"Yes." I was very sure. "While you do that, I have my own duty and that is to begin negotiation with another city."

"What are you planning, Yumiko..." White was able to spot my intention.

I smirked and told him, "Now is not the time to be dawdling about what I'm planning. All I'm doing is for the benefit of my empire alone as well as uncovering the secrets of the Chaos Champions."

"Chaos Champion?" Blanc was confused.

Blanc was ignored as White then replied, "As long as you understand what's at stake then I guess it'll be fine."

"Good." I smiled. "You are given full command over FF Base for the course of the upcoming battle. Get some sleep and get ready for tomorrow because it's going to be a busy day for all of you."
